this weighs in at 67 kg?  I guess you changed the weight or I read it wrong 40kg not 67 kg    still very heavy to ship it.

it will come smashed and killed dead if it really weighs in at that weight.     I am not looking to lug around a 67kg unit in my home.  or ship it back to the seller if it arrives doa.

Once again another no go.  comes close to roi at

3280 usd for shipping + gear

11% for diff increase

15 cents a k-watt

593 usd a coin

Dear, yes, it is 40KG. no 67KG.

OK, I've ordered one. It's amazingly heavy (40kg, and is costing $240 to ship to Australia), but we'll see what happens.

Update:

2014-06-26
They said it would ship on the 23rd of June, but didn't actually ship until the 25th.
DHL has a package addressed to me, so hopefully it's not a couple of bricks.

2014-06-27
It arrived, but, it was badly damaged in transit

This is not a good purchase.

  • It's not 2TH. It's about 1.7TH. That's more than a 10% variance, which is irritating already.
  • it's not going to survive the trip until they figure out how to stop the A3 modules from bending the tiny little retaining bar (They should have designed the case better, so they could have put some foam holding the avalons in place while it was in transit, that could then be easily removed when it arrives).
  • Avalons won't mine against any pool with even slightly large coinbases (P2Pool, Eligius, occasionally ghash.io) - You get this error "Avalon2: Miner Manager pool coinbase length have to less then 6144" which is a protocol level issue and isn't currently on the board to fix

Also, they didn't send me the associated Pi controller, so I had to spend half a day digging around to build a Linux machine that would talk to it. to actually mine. I had a look at the website, and, they don't actually say they include the Pi.

So, TL;DR: Don't waste your coins.

When you say its not noisy, can you give us an actual dB meter reading on a unit in a single room? If you don't have one handy there are plenty of free phone apps that give a pretty good reading on it. Also when you say we can use paypal to purchase a "sample" is that a full working unit that we can keep at full price? Or is that for a smaller unit? A unit that must be returned later? Or what else do you mean by that.

Burnin test room with Avalon 2T miners

I call Amanda  the day before yesterday and told her I would buy an Avalon 2T to proove the community they exist and are ready for mass production.
She told me the durable cardboard boxes she has ordered haven't arrived yet.
I said, doesn't matter, I will buy and pick up the miner anyway.
When I arrived there at the factory yesterday, there was a Russians couple with 2 translators placing an order of 15 scrypt miners.

The Avalon 2T I bought was originally reserved for another customer, they don't have enough stock untill 21 june, but I convinced Amanda
I need the miner to proove to the community they exist.

I will update this post tonight with more pictures and measurement of power useage with a kill-a-watt and noise level and hashrate

built-in6 blades, each blades include one cooling fan.

Powercomsuption : 1watt/1GH/S. totally 2000W.

Hashrate: 1.9T to 2T Hash

Goodsstadus: 100% newly making

Firstbatch:  shipping time 21th June. Totally100pcs quantity available.

Size:51.5*45*20cm

Weight:40KG

Sorry for not having update this thread yet.
I have taken more pictures, I need to shrink them first and add text.
I will do it tomorrow, I am freaky busy with other stuff to.
At the moment I have put the Avalon 2T miner in an isolated room and let the heat build up and see how it reacts on heat.
The fans are spinning wild under this condition and hashrate drops to 1.6-1.7 T.
It's about 60 dB under this condition.
If you buy an Avalon 2T, make sure you are not in a warm country or have the AC on, otherwise it won't hash at full speed at your poolside.

How does the Dragon 1T run in comparison under these conditions?

So DHL are promising me that it'll arrive here today.  For those that don't' know, Australia runs on 240v, so drawing 2200w isn't anything to stress about.

I'll throw some better pictures up as soon as it arrives.  I've got to say, apart from the delay in shipping, I've been pleasantly surprised with these guys.  They do a lot of other non-bitcoin hardware, too, according to http://www.winkor.com/

The only thing I find SLIGHTLY suspicious is that they use the same (terrible!) shopping cart software as http://lketc.com

Compare:

http://lketc.com/enlogin.aspx
http://www.bit-winkor.com/u_login.aspx

Obviously the same software. And it's so bad, it looks home-made, too.  I wonder how closely they are working?

I'll update my previous post with photos.

How did the weight change from 67kg to 40kg?

I don't know where that 67kg number came from. Someone mentioned it on page 1, but I'm assuming that was a typo that they fixed.  When I called DHL yesterday, they said the box was 46kg IIRC. It was in the high 40s.

Hopefully I can do some slightly-better-than-potato quality photos of it, and the box - which is apparently what caused the shipping delay.

The dragons manage much better - although they are hot bastards too.

It would actually be worse, but the avalon (in house) designed modules are simply excellent in terms of airflow and mechanical design - and also have a nasty little delta fan that shrieks like Katyuska rockets as it approaches its max of 9kRPM Smiley

The 3rd party avalon stuff is garbage.

Well, it's here, and it was really badly damaged in shipping.  I'll throw some photos up later.

TL;DR: Don't buy.  Significant design flaws means it's almost impossible for it NOT to break in transit.

sorry , but I have to say I told you so.    You can post an Fu to me  I would understand  why you would.

Shipping packages of that weight and size just end up broken.  46kg  or the typo of 67gh  are both too heavy.

I have been doing a small but steady EBAY business for 10 years.  I stopped shipping any packages over 45 pounds.

I hope you can get it repaired.

They would be so much better off   shipping the psu's in 1 box.   the blades with the the chips in a second box and the case in a third box.

Oooh I just realised why you were saying they were loud - I turned the fan on my module down to nothing and provided my own cooling. Yeah those things are loud on their own.
