Ukraine’s gas bill has risen another $838 million, after Kiev failed to make a payment for 1.7 billion cubic meters of Russian gas supplied in the first half of June.

“The deadline for paying June bills expired yesterday; we again didn’t receive the money from Naftogaz Ukraine. As a result Ukraine’s debt to Gazprom for the 1.7 billion cubic meters supplied from June 1 through June 16 rose to $5.296 billion,” Gazprom CEO Aleksey Miller said on Tuesday.

“Ukraine’s principle unwillingness to pay for Russian gas is becoming chronic, and once again shows the transition to aprepayment system, included in the contract, was the only correct decision,” Miller added.

They could have at least used those 5 million dollars, spent to honour Biden junior during the independence day (04.07) banquet in Kiev towards gas payments...

In the meantime Naftagas halved gas delivery to power station of Kiev, and completely stopped such delivery to Harkov.

Serbia is a landlocked country. South Stream will not be possible unless any of the coastal Balkan nations agree to its construction (Bulgaria, Romania, Greece.etc).
