I'm not worried because Catapult is not yet available for general use. It is still only available for Mijin customers. It will be used there first and then get released on the public NEM block chain. The price will probably reflect that either right before public release or very soon after. If you are on the fence about picking up a few more NEM, you probably don't want to wait too long.

So is it XEM or NEM?   For serious investors it can be really confusing, everybody knows that Sony is Sony, not Xony...

NEM is the system, XEM is the currency. NEM is more than just XEM.

So its 2 different things?  But if I buy XEM on bittrex, do I also own NEM?

the blockchain is NEM
the native currency is XEM
but NEM blockchain can host many more currencies
still any transactions have to include xem as transactions fees
even if its another currency on the NEM chain

Catapult was announced a looong time ago. Its not so much that catapult is coming is the news. Its what it will mean for the Nem blockchain and third party development using the Nem bolockchain.
As far as near term price increases, probably the new Nem exchange that is about to open in Australia which will have Nem/fiat Nem/btc and Nem tokens/fiat. This will open up many ICOs which if using the NeM blockchain will have a direct access to an exchange for their tokens on day one.
 Its not an exchange that merely trades nem . It is NEMs own exchange

That does not mean that a token issuer can't distribute the dividends by himself.
Like DIMCOIN which stated thet owner of DIMTOKEN will receive dividends in DIMCOIN.

not just that. "ANY COST" that is incurred, whether as a transaction or as a purchase of a mosaic, etc.  i mean . anything that occurs in that wallet apart from transactions, that hold a cost . even transactions in mosaics that are completely opposite of what nem is , but still operate on nem for security purposes.  soo much more for nem to be used in "behind the scenes" cases.  in the end, all that is going to do is increase our harvesting blocks exponentially by leaps and bounds unheard of

i didn't know anything abount this new exchange. This could make the difference, especially if it will possible to trade the tokens too!

NEM has great technology and it will pay back in the future. I don't want to say that newbies should buy or you should add on your position but I think that NEM could be a standard of crypto. It has much more chances to survive through rival periods. I also like their business and government friendly attitude.

I did not find confirmation of the addition of NEM to TREZOR in official Trezor sources. The only thing I managed to find about NEM is support in TREZOR T.

Yes, today. It is included in the 1.6.0 firmware update. 
Now we are waiting for the Update of NEM's 'NanoWallet' to make it compatible. Should happen by tomorrow I guess.
