I'm not sure anyone is selling their shares, but you can put up a buy order on the system, if the price is good enough I think someone will sell.

Is it anything like how mtgox works?

It's just like mtgox, but for you to be able to buy something someone has to be selling.

Right now, anyone who has UBX shares isn't selling them (last time I checked), however if the price is right pretty much anyone would sell. What I mean for that is that if you want someone to sell UBX shares, you need to offer a high enough price.

Ubitex is same as mtgox, buying , selling bitcoins. But Ubitex still not operational, building site.

GLBSE is different than mtgox & ubitex.
GLBSE is share trading with bitcoins, while ubitex exchanges bitcoin with other currency.
you can buy ubitex itself in glbse, but not vice versa.
I understand this way only. Some one correct me if wrong.

There is not a big difference between selling bitcoins for other currency and selling bitcoins for other goods, services or even shares. So in this way it's really much the same as mtgox.

The only difference is with mtgox, you are limited to exchanging bitcoin for currency(specifically USD) and nothing else. On GLBSE you can trade bitcoin for whatever is listed.

An exchange/or market is a market, they all work pretty much the same, the only difference being whats traded there.

Someone still has to explain why there now seems to be a total of 1250 shares in UBX when the IPO prospect said there would be 1110 shares.  Where did the extra 140 shares come from?

Cheers,

Cheers,

I think I replied to this in another thread(can't remember), essentially it was an accounting error when switching the share contract. This was caused primarily by the system being used earlier than I had planned. 140 were created out of nowhere, and someone had already bought them before we could bring them off the market.

Remember GLBSE is Beta software, I'll do my best but can't guarantee no mistakes until I take off the beta tag.

You sent me a PM out of context, and I wasn't aware that it was an answer to my question.

Thanks for the explanation.

I'm sorry for the lack of private beta. Due to unexpected delays, the private beta will be skipped, and a public beta will launch on the fourth. My bad.

Usually it means "away", as in 'Go forth, young man."

"The powers of financial capitalism had another far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole. This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements arrived at in frequent meetings and conferences. The apex of the systems was to be the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland, a private bank owned and controlled by the world's central banks which were themselves private corporations. Each central bank...sought to dominate its government by its ability to control Treasury loans, to manipulate foreign exchanges, to influence the level of economic activity in the country, and to influence cooperative politicians by subsequent economic rewards in the business world."

Also I wouldn't worry about it because, well things are hard to estimate, just ask the GLBSE investors about how many slips in timing I've made.

It will be a lucky day for you to actualy meet a time target. It's just hard to estimate how long something you've probably never done before will take.
