Which coin has the cleanest code base?

Perhaps a lazy question, but which major coin has the cleanest and most refined codebase?

I'm looking for a good, stable, starting base for a PoW coin - bitcoin and litecoin latest stables seem like good starting points, but are you aware of any others which have had reasonable development and roll out, and which aren't bloated or customized to hell and back.

im no programmer but my vote would be bitcoin as codebase.  by far the most well maintained and active "on the line"

About your question. I do not know. I am a Nxter. Nxt has a pretty good code base.
