Hi

A couple of months ago I bought some BTC in LocalBitcoins (Wallet A)
I then sent some BTC to a mobile wallet (Wallet B)
Yesterday I was going to do a payment to a merchant account (Wallet C)

But I typed it wrong at B and I sent the BTC to A instead of C

I wrote to LocalBitcoins and I told them whether it was possible to send the amount back to B

Their answer (just one line) was

"I'm sorry but BTC transaction are irreversible"

It's is not a big amount (0.08 btc)
Do you think LB should send the money back or they are right ?

I would really appreciate anybody's help or point of view
Thanks

0.08 is not a small amount either (Think of how many steam games you can buy with that  Roll Eyes)

They should return it of course, a lot of people did and that's what i would do.

I guess whoever responded to you is the kind of people who don't like returning things.

Only god can judge me.

you've sent your BTC to your LBC wallet. Just log into LBC and send your BTC to wallet C in the same way you sent them to wallet B initially. Simple, no?

I believe this is your answer.  If for some reason you don't have the ability to send from wallet A and you know localbitcoins has wallet A private key.  I would suggest sending another transaction from wallet b and sign the message to prove you are the owner of the address in wallet B.  Then point to the mistaken transaction ID and show localbitcoins that you've made a mistake.  I would expect them to send the 0.08btc back to you if you keep pressuring them.  But they are under no obligation to return your coins that Im aware of. Keep asking.

Thanks for your help ,nice video Ali Smiley

The point is that I ordered  from inside LocalBitcoin Wallet a couple of months ago a transference from A to B

Here is the transaction :
fc38f55c4f7d0345c2ff2bd9b9aab6ccc1c1bce84693229acf9e152ca71c42fe

One of the right addresses is mine

Left one I guess is controled by LocalBitcoins ,am I wong medicine ?

This is all the answer from LocalBitcoin :
"There is not much we can do . You sent the BTC by mistake to another address."

They just closed the ticket I had to reopen a couple of times

How do you see it?
I think it shouldn't be hard for them to do a couple of checks and send it back...

And can you post the transaction ID for the "mistake" transaction too?

don't you think "1HFQPvdFjURS4HAeBW1JfhRMtKfpV5YbD9 " is a LB address?

Thanks

If you check the balance of 1HFQPvdFjURS4HAeBW1JfhRMtKfpV5YbD9 you can see that someone did remove your 0.08btc from that wallet shortly after you sent it.
I don't know anyway to prove that that address belongs to LB, I don't use their service so I'm not sure how their wallets work.

Maybe someone else can weigh in.  I thought when you use local bitcoins you are buying coins from other individuals, not the site itself?
Possibly that address belongs to the person you bought the bitcoins off of in the first place?

Well

You buy Bitcoins from other LoclBitcoin customer's using an Escrow
I guess that "1HFQPvdFjURS4HAeBW1JfhRMtKfpV5YbD9" is an internal address they use for moving BTC, but I may be wrong

BTW:
I assume it was a mistake from mine , and LB could decide to do nothing
But the support is not being any helpfull

May be they are under the impression that someone else might have send those coins, keep talking to support and ask them if you can provide proof that it was your address from which the coins were sent, this way they'll know that you sended the coins in mistake and they might send the coins back to you.

If they still don't, then you can't do anything about it but it would defo question their credibility and trust.

Well ,LocalBitcoins support does not care at all

They don't suggest any way to proof that the address is mind

Well I think I'll have to admit that these bitcoins are lost ,at the end it was my fault ,I'm happy It was not a big amount

And I'll try in the future not to work with LocalBitcoins

You can prove that an address is yours by signing a message from it; I'm not sure if that will help you now, though, since it sounds like you've sent your bitcoins to someone who isn't willing to return them. Even if you did send them to localbitcoins, they may have been automatically forwarded to someone you purchased coins from in the past who localbitcoins has no control over.

I agree,
I think I can easily prove that sender address is mine, but LocalBitcoins support  doesn't ask for anything

I'm not sure how LB works actually

Since the receiving address was only active when I transfered bitcoins one month ago
Then remained inactive until I sent them the wrong transfer om 23 th
And just one hour later it got again active to transfer my 0.08

It looks like is an internal address from LB the use to transfer btc ,doesn't it?
