Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Nefario was the first person to fly using Bitcoin and also the first person to be detained and deported from the US… also for using Bitcoin.

this never gets old ^^
I use this story when explaining friends how glbse works, who designed it and why every new user moves the prices : )
good luck!

/me wants to hear more about this...

he was not allowed to enter US and sent back home from the airport.

btw how did you avoid the red font color that usually gets replaced with /me ?

now for your request ... I'm afraid that his (nefario's) request "not to talk about it" is older so all i can tell is the mnml version
io: do you have any credit cards with you or pockets full of money?
ne: no
io: how will you finance your stay in us?
ne: with bitcoin
io: would you prefer coffee or tee with your waiting for a flight home? because you're not entering usa while I'm on duty.

io - immigration officer
ne - nefario

you can search this forum or bitcoin.org.uk/forums for the full story. It was probably July last year, in time for the NY gig by bruce wagner

there I fixed it for you (saving edited post does not replace /me with a bb code for me)

on the other hand more users for the glbse could be good. more users = more control
more control would be better control (entities issuing asset would be controlled better)
better control = less garbage. etc.

Looks like it was accidental.  The "/me" was right next to the closing quote tag, instead of being on a new line.

Awesome!  What will you be speaking about?

Evolutionary money: the Bitcoin ecology

About how, as money bitcoin itself is just an evolutionary step forward, but that one step creates a revolutionary ecosystem around it.

I'll talk a little about what bitcoin allows, and some of the cool projects as a result, GLBSE, bitdrop and SilkRoad.

Do you have to talk about those three projects?

How about Bitcoin-Charity.com or CoinWorker.com for projects that aren't so potentially controversial?

How often do you get the chance to work on a potentially world-changing project?

Yeah these are the coolest projects in bitcoin land, I could talk about namecoin but then I need to get all technical and into the whole issue of ICE seizing domains etc. I've only got 20 mins for the whole thing.

Controversial is great, it grabs peoples attention and makes for interesting presentations. I don't want to bore people. The fact is bitcoin is great because it make many things that were impossible, just difficult.
