Bear with me, I'm fairly new to the community so if I inadvertently say anything stupid, please excuse me.

So, with the current market rate at about 1.94, is my price considered fair? I'd preferably like to just sell it on MT Gox, but I'm Canadian and not willing to create a Liberty Reserve account. Anyways, let me know if you're interested, or if you've got some advice for a new guy I would love to hear it!

Thanks in advance Smiley

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

If you happen to accept Paypal be careful, since Paypal allows chargebacks and someone could try to scam you with a stolen Paypal account/credit card. Only allow Paypal from trusted community members.

You don't need Liberty Reserve to use MtGox. But you'll want some other way to get USD or CAD after selling your BTC there, so you'll need someone who will buy MTGUSD (USD transferred within MtGox) from you. You'll just want to find someone else in Canada who wants to get CAD into MtGox to buy BTC with.

if you're canadian then you can probably get canadian money directly by selling to another canadian that will do an interac email money transfer. Much less chance of fraud in that case.

Ofcourse you'll need to adjust your price accordingly to the us/can exchange exchange rate.

You might like to look into #bitcoin-otc - the 'over the counter' marketplace for buying and selling coins.
