Ok, he's protected for a month. What happens after that? Still plenty of time for a chargeback. Escrow for PP is pretty useless unless you hold over 180 days as you well know. Crazy to wait that long to finish a trade when there are other, quicker options.

When the subject of buying BTC with Paypal comes up, I often remember this:

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Well people do it anyway just like your sig, I'm open to longer periods if seller asks, 6 months and PayPal is pretty safe

1 month at least gives stolen accounts a chance to reverse

It's about harm reduction

UPDATE
Let me know your $US or $AUD price for BTC0.5021

That's 0.5 (the amount I want) + 0.002 (bitpop's fee and a tip) + 0.0001 (mining fee)

If I accept, then you contact bitpop for an address to send to.  See bitpop's page here:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=231416.0  Be prepared to use PGP (or GPG).

As soon as I can confirm that you sent to bitpop, I will pay your price via paypal.  Bitpop will wait one month (or longer if you specify - we will need to agree first) to pay me.

Please post positive feedback when you're satisfied with the transaction.

Hey! I'm from expresscoin. If you're still interested in using PayPal as a payment method, we're happy to do this by request. PM me if you're interested.

Best,

@selene72 What do you mean by "switching your account" ?  I understand the skepticism but I'm never going to get started with bitcoin if I don't jump in somewhere.  My intention with buying from anyone I don't know is to start small, learn more about how bitcoin works and go from there.  I'm not trying to steal from anyone.

I'm in Australia, I'm not familiar with most of the payment options discussed here.  Aside from buying a little bitcoin to actually use and learn with, I want to establish new connections with reliable people on this board.

[Edit re: one month wait] What's wrong with me being prepared to trust a reputable escrow provider?

I've recently completed a small trade with ExpressCoin.  They were extremely patient and accepted paypal.  Wink

Hope to trade more in the near future.
