I've executed several before. Have investors lined up now and sometimes they require this of you, but I guess you're just smarter than me. Carry on.

Tell more about your past ventures. I bet you will get more candidates if you show that you are really able to bring something to the table.

Unfortunately often these "a non-programmer business guy looking for developers" deals are pretty bad for the devs. I recommend to use common sense before applying, and not sign any NDA before at least you know that the guy is credible.

I know the horror stories. Really though,if I'm offering full time employment at rates conducive to the skill of the developer, then its not exactly a huge risk if you decide to forego an equity share. It's basically regular employment. If you buy into the concept, then awesome, come take a share as well. Incentives are what matter. And I work with people that are specialized every day, so I understand how to motivate them. If anyone is interested in talking with me more in depth, I welcome the opportunity, but in a more private forum... so send a pm.
