this thread of nonsense is almost a year old, people should stop bumping this thread anyway just to boost your post count
It is old thread, but the problem is universal. There are still people out there who lost everything or almost everything because of gambling addiction, op was just an example and one of many poor souls, the problem lies not in casinos being present and available for everyone but in people who are being deceived by illusion of easy money. i dont agree that the thread is noncense,i think this thread should be made "sticky" even.. there are tons of people that might reconsider their thoughts and intentions after reading OP. We'we all been there, depression realy gets you after a huge hit like OP had, and if some old thread can make even 1 user to reconsider gambling, then its worth it... cheers

Yes, same story is happening everyday. It's not easy to make a huge amount of money from casinos, but very easy to lose every penny in casinos. Casino is money eater monsters. Unless we have good luck and bankroll management, or we will lose money.

This is serious business. Don't gamble what you can't afford to lose. That includes your house, your car, your savings, and the money you need to pay your bills.

I know some people who lost everything after betting some significant money on sport, but I never met anyone who buys few lottery tickets every week and his life suffered by this. I guess you can call it almost the same or even worse in the terms of winning chances but money wise buying lottery tickets is almost harmless (as long as you are not heavily fixated on that).

I have seen people that bought 150 tickets a month because the probable reward is great but I meant the addiction is clearly present in gamblers and people must be wary of letting it out of control.

The thing is that even though lottery tickets are -EV , they have the potential for life changing money. Sports betting does not usually have that. Not like $2 is going to equal hundreds of millions in sports betting.

Everything is for people! You can be gambler, you can drink alcohol and test drugs! You can do it, but if you become an addict and you can't live normally without your stimulants that means your are no longer capable of understanding what is wrong and what is right for you. If you know hot to gamble without losing all your money that means you are doing it right, if you can stop - you are doing it right. But if you are regretting after every time you gambled there is definitely something wrong.
