in linuxcoin, or windows 7

i flashed to the newest bios on MSI-890FXA-GD70
I've tried every fix on the web.

cards get recognized in windows but cannot install any driver, 12.1, 11.12 or 11.6

Could it be that the cards need a bios flash?

they seem to be running fine otherwise and have run before in other systems.

Any ideas?

First remove any vid driver completely in Programs, then try to install the driver you want(probably already tried this).I don't use a "driver sweeper",so others may recommend one & how to use it.

Second,Reflash to your original BIOS version. Why did you flash??? Looks like most CPU's are supported by the same version, unless your mobo is a different revision:

I never flash a BIOS on mobo's or vid cards, unless ALL other options are exhausted.

Good luck Wink

Thanks, flashed the mobo bios, because there are some known issues booting from USB.

Well low and behold I found it the 5970 is just dead.

Was it overheating?

No, fan works and no red light, but it won't accept ANY driver from 12.1 to 11.6 and it is not recognized as a result for mining with linux or windows. If I put it in slot 1 and plug the monitor I get no signal. So something is wrong and you can't flash the bios because diamond will void your warranty. Either way, i'm just going to RMA since I don't want to get screwed on a bios flash(which would probably work.

Tried it on three different mobos and about 10 reloads of linux and 4-5 windows reloads.

I can see the card in windows under device manager, but that's it.
