ISIL declares new 'Islamic caliphate'

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), the armed group fighting governments in Iraq and Syria, has announced the establishment of a "caliphate" straddling the two countries.

In an audio recording distributed online on Sunday, the ISIL declared its chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi as "the caliph" and "leader for Muslims everywhere".

Baghdadi is believed to be the leader of ISIL, which announced that it is now called "The Islamic State".

Meanwhile:


USA planning to spend 500 millions to help Syrians rebels. Surely this will strength ISIL, and many of the training or equipment will be used against USA and their allies, specially in Iraqui.

There are some mad theories about people inside the USA working hard to crush the USA's world dominance, and about Obama being more loyal to the Muslin Brotherhood than to USA.

We would have to wait and see.  All I have seen so far are clips of rebels with Kalashnikovs and white Toyotas.   I don't see how their force can really stand up to anyone in a conventional war or a total war.  A division of Poles or Czechs could stop these guys quickly, never mind a more powerful military like the US marines.

I doubt the Sunnis of the world will all unite via word from this Caliphate. Perhaps, it may challenge certain al qaeda elements to take calls from them. I'm not sure about obsolete. Islam is one of the fastest growing religions in the world. Even the idea of Islamic theocracy is growing. I see no such trends in other religions.

Anyway I guess there is now no such thing as isil/isis. They are re-branded as "The Islamic State".

Is he paid per post? The last time I heard, he was getting paid according to the total time logged in. Looking at his artillery barrage, I have a feeling that he will be more useful in the real battle.
