i like this coin and how it tries to lower electricity costs and consumption.  but are there tests already done to prove that mining FRESH consumes less electricity compared to, say, LTC?

i think it would really help for this project to get wider adoption.

The best is to test it your own, but there are some tests here are links:

7950:

http://tabletuser.blogspot.com/2014/07/freshcoin-on-radeon-7950-crypto-mining.html (I did undervolt them and my 4x7950 are about 550w with CPU, motherboard etc.)

This is nvidia comparison:

You have whattomine for mining calculations: https://www.whattomine.com/coins/118-frsh-fresh

https://www.freshpool.info is down because nicehash.com we are using as a main multipool is DDOS-ed.

I think Developer answered your question already, just be patience, so far Fresh developing team already fulfilled pretty much all of their promises. Again Thanks for asking tho.

Wow that is result for sure...I have got 4.6 from 280x...is there some more tweaks which to do for this, I will put it on OP if this is working Smiley

I'm not sharing it - not because I mine Freshcoin, but because my implementations could be merged back into the publicly available X11/X13/X15 kernels - I just wanted to make the point that this algo runs cooler because the implementation is slow and inefficient.

I understand your point but there is another question if there is optimal settings for all algos which one would be cheapest in terms of power consuption? In this momenz with this miners this is now most cheapest. I am looking in that terms. Theoretically we need to look from reference of maximum usabilty of mining software.

You have not convinced people that they extracted fresh or bought on the stock exchanges, it can be seen by the number of workers for the pool and on the volumes on the exchanges Cool

It does - it consumes a lot less. Half the card is idle while mining it; power saved right there! Never mind, of course, that the actual hash per watt is low compared to what could be gotten.

Yes I am speaking on this time usability of mining...if we have better miner software (more optimal) it will spend more power for sure, but compared to others I think it is less consumer, wolf0 is more better in understanding this than me! Also algos that is used by freshcoin means a lot, I dont think that they are spending much power than x11 for example, even if it is using better mining software compared to best usability software used by x11 for example.

As savale says most algos which are not scrypt are not utilized so fresh algos are not exeption. It is mostly about the type of instructions that are used for those algos!

There isn't anything about the FRESH proof of work function itself that makes it power efficient - it is only the miner being slow that does.

This is not my area of work I contacted vale-sa Smiley for answering...he made whole thing in terms of programming, he will explain that better then I can Smiley

But that can't influence of usability of coin if there is improvement of mining or using better instructions on algos from miner (GPUs) but wait for programmer for his answers Smiley
