Even though TigerDirect was the first to accept Bitcoin in that industry, this is still very good news. Ever since Overstock started accepting Bitcoin earlier this year, many companies have begun accepting Bitcoin as well. Not only small companies but big ones like DISH and Expedia too. It seems like 2014 will be remembered as the year of Bitcoin merchant adoption.

Need Apple to change their stance on mobile wallet and payment application.

I thought they did?

Where is the killer app? Merchant adoption isn't it
Bitcoin is the killer app - the first of many! Central banking and nation state scrip are the victims being killed.

The blockchain is the platform.

This is really huge. Newegg is a massive supplier of tech to Americans. It's taken them a while to come around, but it's clear they've done it in a big way. Look at that promotion.

It seems like companies are starting to fall like dominoes now. I wonder how much longer it will be until it's going to be the exception when a company doesn't take bitcoin.

This is seriously cool.  I want more and more companies to start following this, between this and overstock heck I can pretty much get whatever I need but groceries at the moment!

I figured this would be another joke thread, or another "I think Newegg should accept bitcoin don't you?" Good to see, another step forward.

Wow this is huge! They have such large market share that this will drive other merchants to start accepting btc also,

All of us should resolve to shop at Overstock and Newegg for all products competitively priced.  By collectively exercising our bitcoin buying 'power' - we FORCE other retailers into using this currency system too.  We are now a very big group.

Please buy your stuff from Newegg!!

I second this, now Amazon is surely going to have to implement bitcoin payments.

I predict that by mid july or earlier ^^ this will happen. Wink

Great news, but we need more consumer adoption!! What good is it if we have merchants accepting bitcoin but nobody to spend the bitcoins?

talking about the future in price buddy, not in the present value of btc. 6000 could turn into 60k or 600k who knows!
