ECWID shopping cart - Support Development of a Bitcoin payment plugin

Max Keiser has been wanting to expand his crowdfunding site PirateMyFilm to include projects outside of filmmaking.  So we would like to use this opportunity to list a software development project on his site.

Here it is - help us build a turnkey bitcoin payment plugin for Ecwid.  We can do this ourselves, just like we have done plugins for Magento, OpenCart, Zen Cart, and others.  But with so many projects on our "to-do" list right now, this one needs a boost.  So we are listing this on PMF to help raise the funds needed for development, testing, and distribution of the plugin.

The plugin would install as a payment gateway and would not require the merchant to install any bitcoin software.  The website can accept bitcoins without knowing much about bitcoins.

The funds raised here represent about 50% of the budget needed.  Bit-Pay would pay the remaining 50%.

a this point the plugin would utilize the Bit-Pay API to make it the most hassle-free for the merchant, and Bit-Pay is paying 50% of the development costs.

This would allow the merchants to:

1.  set prices in 30+ currencies
2.  automatically handle overpayments, partial payments, underpayments, and late payments
3.  receive an RPC/JSON callback when the payment is received
4.  keep the bitcoins, or receive a direct deposit to their bank account in Dollars.  

The Dollar payout has zero bitcoin volatility risk for the merchant.  meaning it does not matter how many bitcoins are collected, what they can be sold for, or how long it takes to sell them.  The merchant gets a guaranteed payout in Dollars right to their bank account.  To get wider bitcoin adoption, options like this to minimize the risk and hassle are the best foot forward.

Awesome.  Yes we have reviewed their interface.  If we can get a handful of merchants to chip in to cover half the cost of this development, we will make it a priority on our schedule!

Why is bit-pay website being down? We used to have a button for bitpay payment up at our site, but had to remove it since it gives a very bad impression with the site and link being unavailable.

The funding target ($400 USD) was reached and this project is green light so anyone who bought "shares" will get an e-mail (or can click the link above to go in and pay).

PirateMyFilm now exclusively uses bitcoin for payments -- good riddance, PayPal!

I think payment for shares should be made at time of purchase, into an escrow account. This can be returned to the investor, if the project does not go ahead.

I'ld agree about it not being the most intuitive site I've ever used.

The yellow light is not much more than the "last call" going out to let people know they can reserve more shares.

Once it is green light, that's when payment for existing shares is done.  I think there's a lot more time after to pay than just 24 hours, it is just that when they've oversold, anyone who doesn't pay right away could lose their shares to someone else. 

I agree though -- if I reserved the shares, and I have that amount in my wallet -- go ahead and automatically make the trade.

The site just went bitcoin-only and PayPal couldn't be used to leave a deposit towards purchase so it makes sense this wallet capability wasn't already baked into the site.

Is this still alive and working? The logo/image mentioned in the readme.txt does not exist anymore..

It is not clear what the prerequisites are: do you need a authorize.net account in order to run this? Currently we only accept PayPal and bank transfers through Ecwid, but have o account with any other CC processor.
