As much as I'd like a cpu only coin in the long run, it will happen, and I'd rather it be produced by the community, rather than being picked up by sgminer or similar.

It will hopefully remain CPU only for sometime after launch.

The block reward follows the function shown in the graph, it gradually decreases, but the speed it decreases with also lessens as time goes on.


That speed is a cryptographic reference to the whirlpool algorithm itself, and shows the performance of the cryptographic function taking place. It has no direct relevance towards cryptocurrencies, but does give an indication to whether you can expect high or low hashrates.
