I am new to NAV and I downloaded the wallet XMAS Eve and began staking but haven't earned anything. Is there something wrong with the wallet? It says "You are staking" but nothing has happened for a few days.

You are, of course, absolutely correct, there definitely IS something wrong with the wallet, as I mentioned in my post above.

I am experiencing exactly the same as you are, except that I downloaded the wallet prior to the latest fork.

Hopefully someone from the dev team will be along to help out before too long.

Don''t worry about the situation; I have been with NAV for years, and the devs (& the community) are the best you will find anywhere.

All will be well.

Hi all,

I'm new to Bitcointalk, but I'm watching the NAV thread for a long time as I bought some NAVcoins sometime ago and I love this coin.

I have a suggestion about a very nice feature that I think would be extremely useful for NAV Coin, and I don't know how to suggest it to the developers, so I decided to write it here and see what the community thinks about it.

I think NAV Coin should have a "Leasing" feature, like the one currently used in the WAVES platform.

For those who don't know how the "Leasing" works in WAVES, it's very simple. You can lease your coins from your wallet to somebody else who runs a node and generates rewards, and the rewards generated from your leased coins will be split between the one running the node and the coins owner. This way, people who lease their Waves earn rewards for their leased coins and those running the nodes earn a little extra from the leased coins. The leased coins are 100% safe because they always belong to their owner and cannot be spent by the one running the node. Everything is automated and you can earn rewards from your waves very easy without running a node. It is a very good solution for those who can't run nodes/stalk coins.

Now, in the case of NAV Coin, I would see the Leasing working in the following way:

Wallet X leases 1200 NAV to wallet Y.
Wallet Y stalks the leased NAV.
In one month of stalking, the 1200 NAV generate 5 NAV (5% per year for 1200 coins during one month)
The 5 NAV are distributed as follows:
1 NAV community fund
1 NAV Wallet Y (for stalking)
3 NAV Wallet X (the coins owner)

In the above example, the stalking rewards are 1% for the community fund, 1% for the stalker and 3% for the coin owner. This means that from the 4% stalking rewards that don't go to the community fund, the stalker keeps 25% and the owner gets 75%.

BENEFITS:
- This way, people who don't have the time, tech expertise or enough NAV to be worth stalking can also earn interest on their NAV, but at a lower rate (3%)
- People who already stalk their NAV can get additional rewards by also stalking leased NAV from other people. They'll get 1% of all the NAV they stalk for others.
- The community fund gets more NAV since more NAV will be stalked. A lot of the NAV that are currently not being stalked might be leased and generate rewards.
- People could earn 3% even if they use a light wallet or a mobile wallet, by simply leasing their coins to those who are experienced in stalking
- Leasing your coins and earning interest on them encourages people to HODL their coins for the long term, as they will regularly receive interest in their wallet from their leased coins and will love it

As the situation stands right now, if you have NAV coins worth only 1000$ for example it is not worth it the effort to stalk your coins, as the reward will be only $40 in a year. But it would be very nice to be able to lease your coins without any risk and effort and still earn $30 in a year, while the one already doing the stalking to earn $10 extra, and the community fund an additional $10 as well.

It would be a WIN-WIN-WIN situation for Small Coin Owners, Stalkers and the Community.

What do you guys think about this?

ugh, pulling hair out configuring nav pi.

regular pi(3b) with navpi image loaded. Imported current wallet.dat.

balance is way off, way too many to be orphans.
just needed to sync 100%

Also after changing R Pi configurations via start menu (country, timezone, ect) and rebooting the changes are not sticking.

Where can I view the nav pi sync status?

ideas?

thanks,
john

It is true that this navcoin is seriously increased and I think this rise will not stop. We need to congratulate the entrants at the beginning. Even if there is a good price increase, it is worth buying. At the same time I have bought around 22k sat. If I look at dollar based, I expect btc based. If it does, I'il sell it.

Hello Nav Coin community,

Nav Coin is available for atomic swap trading on Komodo Platform's BarterDEX! Right NOW, peer2peer, on Mainnet with live orderbooks. Anyone can test it out if you'd like. We are taking privacy to new heights by keeping your funds and privkeys in YOUR HANDS! zK-SNARK coin Jumblr in YOUR HANDS! Liquidity of each coin is still building, but BarterDEX can pair your coin with any other of the 80+ coins on the exchange. If a team member, perhaps someone from marketing, would like to test out an atomic swap through our GUI, please send me a DM : ) We have a team availabe for walking leaders of featured coins through the Komodo ecosystem to teach you how your community can benefit from BarterDEX!

This is truly a community project - the keys are now in your hands! YOU can be a marketmaker for your coin, making it available to BarterDEX users around the globe 24/7. YOU can create an SPV electrum server, allowing BarterDEX users to manage and trade your coin without downloading the entire blockchain. We would be happy to assist you with setting these up. It would be nice to have your coin paired with KMD - then we could introduce it to the community as having liquidity in BarterDEX!

Welcome to the BarterDEX decentralized exchange!

Hi there,

I'm putting together an evaluation matrix of all notable Anonymous/Private cryptocurrencies, and could use your help clarifyiing Navcoin.    Feedback including reference to something official (website, whitepaper etc) or Dev comments (or devs themselves) would be very much appreciated.

Thank you!

Well it is not very useful if it does not even indicate NAV is proof of stake and does not even realistically indicate how NAV sits against the other coins.  But at least NAV is on the list I guess so it is a start.
