How accurate is the news? You have another source?

http://www.rferl.org/content/us-homeland-security-hacking-seleznyov-russia-arrest/25449250.html

On the other hand:
http://www.interfax.com/newsinf.asp?id=519051

So no, presumably it's just information wars, until further notice.
These sources are not what I would consider to be credible.

If something like this really had happened, or if there was a credible lead on something like this happening, it would likely be all of the MSM

Interfax is a reliable source. Anyway, it's confirmed from Psaki side of the ocean.

US ‘kidnaps’ Russian MP’s son to ‘exchange him for Snowden’
http://rt.com/news/171188-russian-hacker-kidnapped-america/

Quote
The US “kidnapped” the son of a Russian MP, possibly to exchange him for Edward Snowden, the father charged. The man was indicted with computer-related crimes by a Washington DC court and snatched from the Maldives.

Roman Seleznyov was detained on Saturday at Male international airport as he was returning to Russia, the Russian foreign ministry said on Tuesday in a statement. He was forced by agents of the US Secret Service to board a private plane to Guam to be later arrested, a move which the ministry called “a de-facto kidnapping.”

Man the Americans think up the weirdest stuff I'll kidnap this guy and ask for a ransom

State department calls it not a kidnapping, but legal arrest, according to already ignominious Psaki:
http://www.regnum.ru/news/polit/1823363.html
Looks like it's time to find a couple of kilograms of heroin in the car owned by son of U.S. Ambassador.

I don't know for sure, but if my guess is right, diplomatic immunity should be applicable to family members as well. So, if the Russian police finds a couple of kilograms of heroin in the car of the U.S. Ambassador's son, the maximum penalty that will be incurred on him is expulsion in 24 hours.

Russia’s Foreign Ministry urges US ‘to stop harassing kidnapped Russian MP’s son’
http://rt.com/news/172216-seleznyov-us-stop-bullying/

Quote
The Russian Foreign Ministry is urging the US to stop harassing Russian MP’s son, Roman Seleznyov, who is now being held in Guam on cyber-fraud charges, and calls for the “observance of his rights,” including the “right to medical care.”

...

"We continue to demand Washington to immediately release Roman Seleznyov, who was forcibly flown out the Republic of Maldives to the US island of Guam on July 5,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Friday.

One of the biggest concerns raised by the ministry is the lack of medical attention for Seleznyov.

“Roman Seleznyov was seriously injured in a terrorist attack in 2011 [in Marrakech, Morocco],” and he is being denied necessary medicine. “As a result his health and even his life are in danger.”

“Dark times lie ahead of us and there will be a time when we must choose between what is easy and what is right.”
“We are only as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided.”
“It is important to fight and fight again, and keep fighting, for only then can evil be kept at bay, though never quite eradicated.”

It is interesting if this is true, its about time something is done to acquire that little piece of trash Snowden. I doubt the exchange is even needed to apprehend him, but a prisoner exchange makes saving face easier when you can swap criminals. So then when Russian PO's pick him, they won't be nice about it and tool up Snowden pretty good before shipping him to the USA for his trial, so the little bastard can rot in prison forever, with other traitors like Tranny Manning...

So I guess you like being spied on and lied to about it?  You may want to really look into
Stockholm syndrome..  I say this because you express no aggression in your rant towards the feds who have commuted crimes far worse then Manning or Snowden.  Not sure why some people refuse to ignore the big picture.

Interfax has existed for many years. Their counterpart in the Western world is Associated Press.

Now, as for a reliable source of information, would you consider Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russian Federation to be reliable enough [sarcasm].

Anyone can edit/make a wikipedia article.

Your source that is in russian only says that he was captured, but does not mention Snowden once in the article/release.

I'd urge the US to be careful with this since identity theft is the easiest crime to frame someone with. What may look like a criminal could be a victim of identity theft themselves, but a far deeper reaching form of identity theft.

Cyber crime framing is a tactic used by hackers to lead law enforcement to a innocent person in order to cover their tracks.

Reference to Snowden came from the father of the arrested man. It was his personal assumption, if you cared to actually read the articles.

As for Interfax: Go to the source.

To add to that, many times when you see CNN and their ilk report news from Russia, if you look closely, you'll notice that they reference RIA Novosti, Interfax or ITAR-TASS, while often altering the angle of the news item ever so slightly to match the corporate guidelines.

This is the sort of thing you'd expect to read in a fictional book such as 1984 but America has really become a real life police state,
The govt spies on it's people, strips away the constitution, up arms their police to deal with rebellions, shoots their own citizens...

Exactly, and that is the reason i want to keep away from them as much as possible. Maybe most of the people will still say "long live the king" but sorry i'm rather here in much worse economy than in that gov where i can't even fart without them knowing.

Do you care to elaborate? The press in eastern europe and in russia is far from free and is controlled/influenced by the governments there, on the other hand the press in the US does not answer to the government in any way.

Do you really believe what you are writing? I've read articles in the Russian press, criticising the government to a degree that would not have managed to slip through the censorship in the West.
