Like I said, half of my shares (at least) are discarded. Has anybody ran into this problem with an avalon?

I'm using slush's pool with a CCBMC Avalon 2nd generation, 230 GH/s

On the exterior there is a blinking red light next to the green one, instead of the yellow I've read most people say there should be, could this indicate one of the 2 controllers are bad?

Here's my CGminer config:

Pool Balance(Default: Balance)-----Failover
Avalon Chip(Default: 110nm)-------55nm
Chip Frequency(Default: 300)------1400
Miner Count(Default: 24)-----------24

Have you tried restarting it?

The only online casino on which i won something. I made 17mBTC from 1mBTC in like 15 minutes.  This is not paid AD!

Yes, I've tried restarting it multiple times.

It seems to work well at first (196 accepted / 40 discarded), and then the number of discards comes up to over 50% in a minute.

What's the average accepted to discarded ratio?

I attatched a picture of my cg status if that helps

And here, is where it starts to get worse:

Discarded is a meaningless stat unless you're using getwork (and even then it only matters to the pool operator, not the miner).  It is a 100% useless stat on GBT and Stratum.  Discards are not rejects, they aren't even shares.  It means your software had work prepared to hash but instead it discarded it in favor of newer/fresher work.  You aren't wasting any  hashes when your miner discards work.

Are you sure? Because my miner says it's running at ~215 GH but the pool page reports only 150 GH

That's more likely your OTHER stats, like the fact that it seems to be getting a ton of HW errors.  Discards have NO effect.  It is a stat that shouldn't even be made visible anymore because I don't think there's a single pool out there still using getwork.

What eleuthria said is right. Discards aren't even displayed on the regular cgminer interface any more for that reason.

Turn down the clock speed and/or run it cooler.
