I've set up Armory on one of my laptops. I've noticed that everytime it returns from sleep it can't reconnect to bitcoind properly and ends up stuck at scanning the blockchain. Furthermore, bitcoind.exe sometimes crashes after waking up. Running bitcoind x64 0.9.2.1 with Armory 0.9.1-88.
The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

Long story short: don't use sleep mode.

But... it is a laptop! Is this a problem with bitcoind or armory?

So basically a memory protection feature. But I'd fathom a simple fix can be made by making armory detect sleep and waking and forcing itself to restart/reinit when it happens.

Maybe, but this definitely isn't a priority for a months to come
