I guess off topic is the right section for this post! Smiley

I just went to a job interview for a coding job today. When I talked about current projects, I mentioned bitcoinmarket24.com and that we were selling bitcoin, a cryptocurrency. I mentioned it casually as I would've mentioned 'selling pounds or selling euros'. I kind of expected that the interviewer would ask something like 'Bitcoin, huh, what's that ?'. Well, no such response, actually he didn't bat an eyelid. Could've been many reasons for the lack of surprised response. But it's kind of cool to mention bitcoin in everyday talk, like it's a common thing. Smiley

If you don't get the job, at least now you know the reason.

Maybe he thought it was some Internet game currency, e.g. WoW gold?  Grin
Hope it didn't ruin your chances and that you get the job though.

This.

When I begin to explain Bitcoins to someone who is not familiar, I feel like they automatically think it is simply an internet game currency.

Almost every day I find someone intrigued by bitcoin and willing to listen, who then promise to research more later.....most people love the concept it just blows their minds! I say dont be ashamed of bitcoin or who you are, if a company can see you are forward thinking and honest, that can only be a good thing.

Mentioning you use it to buy stuff of silk road, not such a good idea Smiley

I mention bitcoin just like any everyday item these days.

And I talk about bitcoin with a lot of people. So perhaps some of them become bitcoiners, if not, they have at least heard about it.

I wish more people knew bitcoin at my place... I have only met some fellow computer geeks, libertarians/entrepreneurs, financial auditors and bank employees who have heard/read about bitcoin but even less of them have used it.
