So GAWminers is selling "Hosted Scrypt Miners" as one-day promotions on www.oneminer.com ..
it sounds quite good.. a 1.3 Mhash Litecoin Miner for 60 USD plus 30 USD hosting Fee for One Year..
or today 13 Mhash, hosted 3 month, for 400 USD
you can ship the miner to your home at any time..

so in germany i even save 144 USD just in electricity cost over one year..(1.3 Mhash )
or save 360 USD in 3 month.. ( 13 Mhash )
but my assumption is: they don't have any miner at all!
they have a fancy gui, yes.. but they only take the 90 USD and pay you day by day the btc you would receive with mining.
( they can do math: they know that they will never have to pay more than 90 usd back )

so here is my evidence: they do not allow custom pools.
you can select between 5 coin-switching altcoin pools, which all pay out in btc..
so you do not know if they are really mining... or just pretend they were mining...

what is so bad about this?
either they are complete scammers.. ( or okay.. they give you the "feeling" as if you were mining.. )
or they are weakening the altcoin community: they are lowering the LTC price ( if they are really mining ltc and selling them for btc )

what about the shipment option? this is done with the hardware of GAW miners. but they hope that very little amount of users will request shipment. 10% of the hardware is munch cheaper than 100%. and what happens when all miners have to be shipped in one year? definitely they are woth noting.. so they can buy them very cheap and ship them.
but we can see: they do not need to owe the miners at the moment...

even more strange is the following fun fact: you can pay in btc.. in your mining account.. that does not make any sense!!!

what do you think? do they actually mine?

i think i will request shipment immidienately.. they do it for 0 USD internationally.. i am very curious if this will ever happen...

What is ZenMiner Cloud?

ZenMiner's world-class cloud hosting service to helps you hit higher ROIs easier and more reliably. Host your machine in ZenMiner's state-of-the-art datacenter and never worry about uptime, power costs, or noise ever again. When you checkout from one of our partners with a ZenMiner Hosting package, you will be given a code to activate your machine and begin mining in no time at all.

What is Equipment Protection?

This works just like an extended warranty on your miner. If your equipment goes down during your hosting contract, we’ll immediately replace your device and handle the RMA with the manufacturer directly! Oh, and we’ll also compensate you for any downtime you experience.

What pools are available?

At this time we’ve chosen some of the most reliable pools that are also popular with our customers. For a complete list, please contact cloud@zenminer.com

Why can’t I mine to my pool of choice?

In order to deliver on our promise of 99.99% uptime, we’ve hand selected the most profitable and reliable pools that have also proven to be popular among our customer base. If there’s a pool that you feel should be on our list, please contact us at cloud@zenminer.com

How does the 99% uptime guarantee work?

Simple. If your device stops hashing, we’ll start paying you based on your expected hashrate until your machine comes back online. No waiting for compensation, the transition is seamless.

What does the service cost?

At this time, ZenMiner does not bill customers for this service. Our hosting contracts are typically tied to a supported reseller device. At present, you can get a ZenEnabled miner from GAW Miners.

How does this affect my on-premise ZenController?

For existing ZenController users, this platform will not interfere with your current device in any way. The two platforms are entirely independent of one another. However, we do plan to integrate them in the future but only at the interface level. On-premise controllers will still function as they do now.

well if they allow you to purchase with a cc or paypal you have 45 or more days or protection. So if you can buy with credit why worry?

I will tell you one thing  all Zeus  chipped miners suck power bigtime.  They may not own them and they may be mining  with other gear.

You need to ask your self what kind of cc/pp protection do I really have if I buy this.

I used to order thousands of dollars in gear from gaw miners.  I stopped I now order from zoomhash.

frankly the ltc/scrypt coin world is in for a shock.. asic gear keeps getting built and sold .  via cc/pp  thus making fearless buyers.  I am not sure what to think prices are going to do.  I wish I did not own 12 gridseed blades but I made my guess so I will see how I do.

You can actually keep all the coins as they are with CoinKing Wink Do you get to choose the CoinKings account? If so, then you can at least watch it transparently there.

I decided I don't want any more in house blades.  So I now have my 13th blade it is from gawminer not zoomhash and it is in the clouds.

I pointed it at Clevermining  on cloud.zenminer.com

I will report back on this 1 time each week to show my btc gathered from this item.

I fired it up 6pm eastern standard time july 16th 2014.

so i contacted support and they were very friendly and started a refund ( i payed with credit card, can take a while.. )

so i think the service of zenminer-cloud is not bad.. but they should give it another name!
it is not "hosted mining" .. is is more.. "shared mining"... ( like shared webhosting on dedicated servers)
for example they might have a 88 Mhash Miner which is connected to the 5 pools..
so they can show in the webinterface to 67 users "you possess one 1.3 Mhash Miner" and the user can "vote" which of the 5 pools should get more hashing power ( 67 * 1.3 =~ 88 )
if now someone would like to connect to his own pool, it could be bad for the stability of the whole miner. so it is okay to domineer the customer..

two points would make it even better:
- add litecoin. i know this is more complicated because every user has two balances ( ltc and tbc ), but would be a big plus
- the risk is still on the customers side. long term contracts where i pay one year in advance are very risky. what about the following idea ( like zeusminer global network ): you sell us the mining hardware for production cost. no more price bubbles, just the real price. Then the following is very easy to implement: 40% of the mined coins go to the manufacturer, 50% of the mined coins go to the customer, 10% go to the cloud operator. So we split the risk ( and make sure, the cloud operator has an interest in uptime )

There is a review of ZenMiner Cloud on https://cloudmining.guru

I am actually going to buy a couple of furys, or maybe I wait for a good OneMiner deal.

I just miss the option to set your own pool  Sad

When I ordered the gaw miner fury in cloud hosting  07/26/14, the cost indicated for the rental after the first free month was indicated at the bottom of the page: $ 0.13 / day = $ 3.9 / month
Now the cost is shown .. $ 0.29 / day .... = 8.7 $ / month
This' is absurd
I was going to buy other products, but now I'm very, very doubtful.

I was pleased that it is now indicated $ 0.11 / day, very well.
I hope that you send by email with cloud hosting when you buy a document clearly indicating the future costs of hosting.

Yep all the devices for hosting doubled in error and they corrected them all.  The oops caused an uproar but was quickly resolved.

interesting concept, i stopped using pools that consolidate and payout in BTC. To whom, when and at what price are they selling coins? I prefer to mine my own coins and gamble them myself. If I win big, good, If I lose big, Good. I made the choice to buy, sell or hold. Plus there are coins that I am interested in and want to see long term. These companies don't do anything for free and i don't expect them too but if you can't see any thing then how do you know you are getting a good deal. Thanks for the post, your concept never crossed my mind and I was about to pull the trigger on cloud hosting with Zen.  Cool

If you're interested in Zenminer there's a nice review of their services https://cloudmining.guru/zenminer-cloud/

BTW. the title of this thread is misleading as in the first post OP states that he has no proof, he just suspects and asks for your opinion, but the title is a clear false statement.

How is "tracking" going to prove anything? They got BTC at an exchange, and yes, someone mined them but it wasn't Zen. Or if it was Zen then it means they don't mine Scrypt. Either way it's pointless.
