I have a two week-old S2 Antminer that has ceased hashing and both LEDs are now on. I have not opened the case to check the connections but if you recommend that I so so, I will. I am concerned that something more serious and fatal may have happened. My system has not overheated and is kept in a well air-conditioned cabinet. I would like to know if any other members have had a similar experience and if so, how the episode was resolved.
Thank you,
Justin

Got one of the last ones in today, arrived basically same condition. Would turn on but fans would just run at high speed and wouldn't boot lcd screen blank. Opened up two of the pce cables had come loose from psu probably never clicked all the way in to begin with. Still wouldn't boot so I put in a new spare sd card with the 4/10 image(which you need to immediately upgrade to 06/19) and it works fine. You are going to have to open up and explore. Plenty of info about almost every possible problem in these threads.

To Dropt, Edgar, and sjc1490:

Thank you for your spot-on advice. I did open the case and after I had reseated the blades, the S2 was back in business. I will check the microSD card tomorrow to be sure it is up to date.

Here is my new issue:

I entered my own information for Pool 1, and used the defaults that came with the S2 for Pools 2 and 3. I did this to check one change at a time. To my pleasant surprise, the hashing rate shot up to 1082GH/sec from 0. This is the first time I have been able to achieve hashing with this machine, and I owe my success to the many suggestions I have received from the contributors to this forum. This is the good news.

The bad news is that when I view the tab "Miner Status" is shows that my information on Pool 1 is "dead" and the only 'live" setting is for Pool 3 that uses:
50.31.149.57:3333
antminer_1
123

My settings that lead to a dead outcome:

stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333
jpsmith8488Worker1
password

http://mint.bitminter.com:8332 (stratum+tcp://mint.bitminter.com:3333 doesn't work either)
jpsmith8488Worker1
123

stratum.btcguild.com:3333
jpsmith8488_jpsmith848worker2
password

Is there something that I am doing that is leading all three of my pool settings fail?  Do you have any suggestions for troubleshooting? Why does the default work yet all of my settings fail?

Again, many thanks for your help.

I am not one of those three individuals, but try http://stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333
also, I believe that there should be a period before worker1, at least it used to be something like  <your login name>.worker1

also try Eligius-it's good and NO password, just use your wallet as worker ID (don't post it here) and 123 as password
Eligius is at
http://stratum.mining.eligius.st:3334
(I am not sure if http:// is needed as it is not needed on S1, but I recall someone saying that it is better to use http:// prefix on S2)

Thank you all for your many helpful suggestions. Thanks to you, I now have a fully functional S2 Antminer (up to 1122GH/sec) and three "alive" Pool settings. I greatly appreciate the goodwill that you have repeatedly shown this Newbie.

Now go and order an appropriate 1200-1300w PSU. The underpowered 1000w Enermax will most likely die within the next two weeks. And while you're ordering the PSU, pick up a couple of high quality micro SD cards. The generic cards shipped with the S2 are cheap garbage.

Thank you for the advice about the microSD card and the PSU. Would you be able to recommend a suitable power supply for me to use as a replacement and your recommendation about where I should buy it?
Much appreciated,
Justin
