They mail it! I'm kidding. I wouldn't really know. I thought the underground coin was darkcoin or something like that? They use BTC instead?

I think they actually do use the USPS along with UPS and Fedex. There was a bust in my area recently and the local news station said the purchase was made at "the silk road" and shipped via Fedex. I am not sure how accurate the report was, but the packages that were delivered were Fedex.

They mail it, and that is one (of many) piece of evidence they have demonstrating conspiracy of DPR to commit crimes - he had instructions on how to avoid detection in the USPS system when shipping drugs.

I think they are really mail it, i saw in the Snitch movies, the drugs send by expedition courier. i though silk road has their own expedition to mail their "hot" product there's no DRK at that time, maybe "they" will use DRK to make a drug transaction I think they actually do use the USPS along with UPS and Fedex. It's easy they literately don't check the mail anymore. I'm in Florida and I know a few people who buy pounds of pot out of Colorado every week. One of them funked out the post office.

Oh they still check. Boxes that have tape around all seems are flagged. Packages, especially express mail, with hand written labels are flagged (businesses usually use software to print label). Packages sent from an invalid address are flagged. Packages sent to a name not associated with an address are flagged. Packages shipped from a post office not close to return address are flagged. Enough flags and it likely gets checked. Getting checked doesn't mean they will act if they find drugs, they are more interested in suppliers than buyers so if it is a small amount, they will often still deliver while investigating who the supplier is.

and those expedition companies don't checked using X-ray like in airport ? I think it is like anything else. You check a certain percentage of packages. To check every one would be prohibitively expensive.

That is prosecutorial malpractice and a dangerous legal precedent. Criminal law should be about intent. By that standard renting a car can get you prison time if someone left a package hidden in the rental car that is discovered while you are in possession of the vehicle.

But according to the indictment, the company was interested enough in revenue from shady Internet pharmacies to create bureaucratic workarounds.
If true, that's conspiracy - and if the prosecution can prove it, they'll have a big fine to pay.

I think, as FedEx has said in a few statements. "How are we suppose to control what our customers send?" "Why are we criminally responsible for something we didn't do, or have control over." It will be interesting to see how the FedEx thing plays out. There will always be a black market bitcoin or not. People will use whatever currency is available. Its hard to blame a currency because some criminal organization decided thats what it was going to use.

The allegation is they did things specifically to help these fake pharms distribute their stock knowing that is what was being done. That would be where they crossed the line.
