http://www.coindesk.com/chains-api-lets-sign-bitcoin-transactions-fingerprint/

Chain has released a demo iOS app with a new feature it says is the future of bitcoin on mobile devices – the ability to send bitcoin using fingerprint recognition technology.

Nice! I though this would happen when they opened the scanner to apps on IOS 8. The 5s fingerprint scanner was closed to apps in IOS 7 and prior.

Chaos Computer Club breaks Apple TouchID http://www.ccc.de/en/updates/2013/ccc-breaks-apple-touchid

Enough said.

Concerned that blockchain bloat will lead to centralization? Storing less than 4 GB of data once required the budget of a superpower and a warehouse full of punched cards. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/87/IBM_card_storage.NARA.jpg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punched_card

Agree Chain didn't research the security.

Off topic but the sad part of chain, and all blockchain apis, is they don't know anything about bitcoin. They only know about scalability. When I look at this apis, it makes me said that they get funding and actively put users at risk.

I'm not a big fan of the fingerpirnt scanners on phones. The NSA can already collect too much info about us.

I think this technology could be put to good use if it's used right. Having some sort of fingerprint scanner to finally ok a transaction would be a good idea ontop of 2 factor authentication.

Saying that you don't trust someone because of their behavior is completely valid.
