This is an interesting thread.  OP how could you afford to take this kind of risk?

He has a substantial amount of btc to work with/loan. He is taking calculated risks by loan to users he deems trustworthy enough to repay the loan with interest on time. It isn't a blind loan operation, he is taking the time to research each and every user that demands a loan.

I'm loaning out btc pretty open-endedly. Approval for amount and duration will be be on a case-by-case basis. And for the sake of transparency and public verification, I don't take requests in PM's. You must post your request, amount of repayment, and address in this thread.

Newbs with 20 activity or less, don't bother asking.

But thanks for such early loan repayment, and especially for keeping in contact about XMR problems. Cheers.

Dunno if you remember me, anyway.

I want to request .03 for .037 to be repaid within a week. On the rare occasion that I'm late I always add more interest on.

May I loan about 0.9 BTC? I need some in order to buy some Hashpower. I'll try to repay it back in less than a month, or maybe even less!

There's almost a 99.7% chance you won't have this loan fulfilled.

Second post in lending section:

I'm looking for a short term BTC loan ASAP, of 1-1.5 BTC over a return period of around 2 weeks or sooner (~September 25th).

The use of this loan will be for investing into a few altcoin pairs. The urgency of my request is due to imminent release of certain code features for these coins, which will result in a large rise in price. Thus, its in my best interest to get in before the volume and support levels begin moving up.

The predicted ROI falls conservatively around the range of +25-50% over the period of 2 weeks.

I am able to provide proof of ownership of 3 BTC valuation of altcoins (currently on Bittrex) that can be liquidated in case of default. I realize it would simply be easier to offer this basket as collateral, but doing so would also mean I would not be able to  exit my altcoin position to take profits. This holding does fluctuate +/-10% or so every few days, ranging from 2.5-4.5 BTC value.

Please let me know if you would interested in helping me with this loan, and I can definitely work with you to provide you the necessary ease of mind.

Repayment preferred to be a lump sum of the principal+interest at the end of the loan period of 2 weeks. Given my expected return on investment, I think an overall 20% interest would be fair, allowing me a bit of room in case I fall short of my expected return. Given the potential upside of altcoin investments, I would be willing to add-on to the final repayment a percentage of my earnings, depending on how successful the venture is.

Replied to all other PM's in addition to the responses here.

Yes I remember you, and I feel bad that you now carry around that account, but what's already said can't be undone. You may or may not have changed your mentality from last time, but I can't know for certain so I won't risk anything. Once I deny you the first time, I won't approve again.

I would like to get 0.15 BTC loan if possible

I would be paying 3$ back everyday until I pay it back.
Denied. Duration is too long for based on $3/day. Mining income also fluctuates and will eventually become less than $3/day (assuming that's how you're paying back). Edit: also THIS.

100% chance, solely based on his previous posts.

These are pretty large fluctuations in altcoin value. And it'll be hard to choose which ones to liquidate if I'm holding a handful of different collateral. I'll send you a PM about this, as it's more than just a quick approval or denial.

These are pretty large fluctuations in altcoin value. And it'll be hard to choose which ones to liquidate if I'm holding a handful of different collateral. I'll send you a PM about this, as it's more than just a quick approval or denial.

For transparency purposes, loan terms have been agreed to via PM:

Quote
I will loan you 1.5 btc for a collateral of 7000 Halcyon (HAL). Repayment is 1.8 btc due on Sept 25 2014. Payment can be sent sent back any time before the due date. 2% per day if late.

- In the event that 7000 HAL price drops to 130% of btc value (1.95 btc), then I will request back the agreed repayment of 1.8btc for the return of your 7000 XMR, or you can add additional HAL. Other options can be discussed as well.
- In the event that HAL drops to 120% value of btc (1.8btc), then I automatically liquidate the collateral to recover my btc.
- At any moment during this loan, you may also request for me to liquidate your HAL to exit your position.

If you agree to these conditions, then send the 7000 HAL to: HBwYpi3RHYS5JFB7D5kpaYekL4FGQgsxHC

Post your BTC address once you've sent the collateral.

I've also requested that @haploid also give me a heads up before any automatic liquidation of the collateral. Under these circumstances, I will put up more collateral to buffer the risk amount, or come to some other sort of agreement between us.

I've sent a 1.5btc loan to jiapetz. Original request HERE, and here is the rest of the relevant PM's:

I will loan you 1.5 btc for a collateral of 7000 Halcyon (HAL). Repayment is 1.8 btc due on Sept 25 2014. Payment can be sent sent back any time before the due date. 2% per day if late.

  • In the event that HAL drops to 120% value of btc (1.8btc), then I automatically liquidate the collateral to recover my btc.
  • At any moment during this loan, you may also request for me to liquidate your HAL to exit your position.

If you agree to these conditions, then send the 7000 HAL to: HBwYpi3RHYS5JFB7D5kpaYekL4FGQgsxHC

Post your BTC address once you've sent the collateral.

BTC Address: 1EAYAYQZYjsAVznoqjjkmzZNbqoPFdtscw

7000 HAL has been sent. In the case of a severe price decrease to 120-130% of the loan+interest amount, please give me a heads up before liquidating. [snipped] ...there are some big swings from time to time due to shakeouts and consolidation before the price run.

Other than this, I see no other concerns.

Confirming I received your HAL collateral. 1.5 btc sent: https://blockchain.info/tx/da18698915287ffd7f3ac068cc248c640a0c9c3ecc160ff83ac150b9b0b6abd6

Liquidating collateral is the last resort in case borrowers go silent. I always try to work it out with the borrow when it hits critical critical levels. At the very least you'll get a courtesy notice before it happens. It should be your responsibility to monitor the HAL value and let me know if it drops to those levels, but it seems like you're already doing that anyways.

Repayment address: 1A13E26EHiMFjXYaNd4eU2bZW8uY38URch

Edit: HAL value went down so jiapetz added another 3,000 HAL to collateral.

I assumed your request was a joke, so I didn't bother replying. The trust in your profile is appalling. You're selling non-legit MS keys, and you've scammed several people already. Assuming non of this happened, you wouldn't have gotten a $1,000 loan anyways.

Just use some of that PayPal money you were wanting to buy 5 BTC with (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=776779.0) and order some parts. Problem solved, plus you save on fees converting from BTC to fiat, not to mention withdraw fees. You're welcome Smiley
