It's a virus .. you don't download it  Roll Eyes

lol... when I first started using the internet, I used to download such files (12-13 years ago). I don't know what happened to the systems in which I used to browse, as they were library desktops, shared by hundreds of people.  Grin

What a pathetic attempt. if anyone does fall for this they don't deserve to be allowed any where near a computer.
If they send out the mail to 1000 bitcoin users they will surely get at least 10-50 users who might download it.
I hope OP reported that mail to Gmail as Phishing mail and blocked that particular mailing address.

I think they would get more downloads then that, but most of the downloads would likely be in a VM or other secure environment, preventing the receiver from any kind of theft or damage.

Its somewhat surprising that some of the people here, instead of laughing at this e-mail are warning us that it's fake.

Seriously. "Federal Bureau Investigation"?

Congratulation (just one?).

.cn domain?

Make sure to "kindly" download the attachment.

Definition of kindly: Not on a sandbox or virtual machine, or a machine with an effective active antivirus.

Syscoin has the best of Bitcoin and Ethereum in one place, it's merge mined with Bitcoin so it is plugged into Bitcoin's ecosystem and takes full advantage of it's POW while rewarding Bitcoin miners with Syscoin

Yeah, I got this off of my spam folder, I was obviously at the very least cautious. And yes, just the one congratulation. Imagine every criminal getting such an email, congratulating them on being arrested Cheesy

I suggest you watch Ashens videos on youtube, he often deals with Chinese toys that have "just the one" sort of words Cheesy

To be honest I figured OP was being sarcastic about opening it.  Please tell
Me you were kidding and the idea of opening it never crossed your mind...in fact anyone here who thought about opening it please do the world a favor and get off your computer!

I get a million spam emails every day and sometimes one slips by my spam filter but I can honestly say I've never been fooled. It's just so obvious, and if you're not sure check with the sender!

Obviously. These days I've become quite paranoid. I mean, it's obvious the email is distributing some malware, from miles away, but I am cautious about everything these days.

A much more effective one -

Dear sir,

We apologize for the late delivery, our database crashed and we had to manually rebuild it.

The following attachment contains the porn you ordered last week, we have decided not to charge your credit card due to the problem with our database.

-------

It's amazing how many smart people fall for that one (or similar) - the thought of porn and a reasonable explanation for why they are receiving it makes a lot of people lose their wits and run the file. Which should, btw, contain porn so they don't suspect they've been had for some time.

It took me at least a week to figure out where that damn virus came from.

Haha, did that land in your spam folder?

Ha, woot! I wonder if all the agents over at the FBI actually have email addresses that begin with "agent..." Ha, that'd be awesome! What if they've got multiple agents with the same name, though?

Kipsy, that's obviously would look like agentDaveDaBoss, or agentDave1, or even like agentDaveIamTheFirstDaveinFBI, meh, i can't stop thinking about weird names which all FBI's Daves could use  Shocked

That FBI mail is fairly obvious lie, but I have seen some really elaborate messages which are hard to classify after a first glance. That is why you must beware and don't open anything suspicious.

Do we not have to give up our private keys when we get this type of email Huh

Only to verify that they are sending your BTC winnings to the right address, of course.

Still around.

FBI wanna more coins to make another auction.

Run the file and give them all your coins, or get life sentence.
