Hi I was wondering if I could pay for bit coin via SMS, by that I mean I get charged to my phone bill for the bit coin, I don't mean from my bank or anything like that I mean I text a confirmation code and it charges me or something like that, if that's possible can someone link me, If someone would sell me bit coin id wanna buy 0.0450
it's more safety if your bitcoin transaction through blockchain.info, you will have your own bank, you can receive and send through this wallet, i hope you will try this suggestion thanks Does someone even read the question? He wanted to know if it was possible to buy Bitcoin via SMS, i.e. via paying for them over you Prepaid account or your phone bill! But as far as I know all the services seem to be scams. I guess back-charging phone bill transactions is too easy for the user.

37Coins is doing the Bitcoins via SMS. Could be used for Western nations, I suppose, but intended for populations not accustomed to smartphones & Internet connectivity.

I agree, this could actually work. I have known people to purchase credits on sites such as Facebook using text messages so this really is just the same thing only it would be bitcoin. I don't see there being any high rates if they just take off you the money it costs to send the text message plus what they owe in bitcoins.
I disagree. I think paying for bitcoin via SMS (aka your phone bill) would carry the same risks as accepting credit cards. The owner of the phone account could claim that their phone was stolen and they did not authorize the payment, the merchant would then be left on the hook for the disputed transaction. I agree with this. There are too many risks with accepting SMS for payment for BTC. Unlike with a credit card payment it would be very difficult to verify that a SMS payment was authorized by the account owner as the person who setup the SMS payment would likely be in possession of the phone.

Yeah, but can you buy BTC there by just sending them a text message, pay for the BTC via that message and then get your BTC. OP wants to buy BTC and pay for them using his regular phone bill, yet everyone suggests services that allow him to send BTC which he didn't ask for

Woah, better stay away from those companies. I guess they're not legit. People can claim the money back they pay via their phone bills. You could also buy BTC via someone else's phone! That'd be theft, man!

If you pay for something via SMS then you are paying for it via your phone bill (unless you are prepaid then you are paying out of the amount you have on credit at the phone company.

Would be cool if you could just text "1 btc" or something like that to a specific number and have it auto debited from your account or added to phone bill. Phone bill could be a bad idea though since so many people would end up not paying

This is exactly true. The phone company would likely not want to take on this kind of credit risk. Especially when the average phone bill is in the double digits, and they would be potentially lending out hundreds if not thousands of dollars for 1 bitcoin.

Umm, yeah it is, but it doesn't matter. OP was asking about a service that allows you to buy BTC with your phone bill or already paid for prepaid money. And all he gets is people telling him how he can send BTC via SMS... I think it is sad that people are just writing something without actually reading the initial post!
