So many scams!! More than 80 percent coins are believed to be scam. Money is lost and this is not good for Crypto World where new people are joining everyday. It is a bad signal for the welfare of Crypto currency.

We need to have a system where new announcement of coins should go through a system where a voting list or may be the assurance of Hero, senior, full members count.

There should be five star, four star....etc kind of thing that should assure people to trust the new coins.

It is in the betterment of crypto-currency.

We all should raise our voice against all these scam and secure our money.....

Make this thread the biggest so that bitcointalk admin notices it....

A major issue is that many of the scams are undetectable at launch.  Most of the time, the scam isn't revealed until it's too late.  Not sure how an accurate system can be enforced that would block out scams while allowing respectable coins to pass through.

But it can go through voting list where hero, senior, full member can vote

Guys, what you're doing now will only lead to bitcointalk closing down this sub forum. This is the wild west and that's the way it's supposed to be! If you want regulation, go  trade interest rates Wink

Right, but I don't know how anyone can accurately predict what will happen in the future with a coin.  It will weed out some of the blatant scams which is a start, but many will still be able to pass through.

Looking at the current scenerio of crypto world, scams are more than actual good coins. There is only a fooling machine where new comers are fooled.

At best you can prevent noobs from creating new threads. That will not stop the problem as I believe that these scammer devs have many sock puppet accounts with 40+ activity.

Education is an option but that takes time and will constantly change. Scams evolve as crypto evolves. I think we need to figure out who these individuals are and then report them to the authorities in the countries that they operate in. Good luck with that since most of them are hiding behind anonymity services.

So what can we do? Delete the Announcements section and not allow any new coin launches here.

Define scam... ?
You can put whatever system you want, it won't prevent morons from jumping in every scammy IPO (or ICO) and if you try to warn them... you are a troll and/or a fuder (who want to buy all the coins...  Grin Grin).
The level of stupidity has never been so high... Grin
one good measure: put pressure on the exchange so that they refuse to harbor IPO coin (Bittrex is doing 3 or 4 IPO is less than 2 weeks... )

I feel your pain but I also believe that it's impossible to stop the scams without inadvertently stifling great new coins. It's often really hard to tell from the outset which coins are legit and which are cynical pump and dump bait. Personally, I think it would be far better to have some stickied threads to provide newcomers to the cryptocurrency scene with tips and a list of things to watch out for. Let's not forget that greed is often the reason people get burnt. If something looks to good to be true, it nearly always is. Just my two cents.

I think for all new coin, we should be able to access more info regarding the poster...
(IP, other accounts, numbers etc... things like that... I think it is possible, I remember during PoS only giveway the devs were able to tell if it was a real account or not)

Just close new announcements Topics from now on at this section. Make a new sticky Topic to discuss possible solution until there is one
