With all the scams going on recently, This question pop's in my head, I think an interesting one. Face to face, We would all say "Naaa, I would not want to be bought down to their level" But it is instinctive for us as a species to "have the upper hand" Or to "have the last laugh" as it were. I recently got very miffed in TF2, When some hackers Booted me and banned me from a vac secured server. There are plenty of people here who would help me get them back (msg me ), But I dont know if I should. I know that was just a game example, But I just want to get a feel for any justification to my private thoughts

For anything other than TF2, I'd forget about it.
Go get 'em.

Yes, I do believe in Karma. I am creator of my own Karma if I had the chance to revenge myself I would do it.

Saying that you don't trust someone because of their behavior is completely valid.

Are you kidding? People like that aren't worth the bother, they stay in their own group and hang out only on their own server for a reason, now scammers on the other hands are criminals and I don't mind taking them down a peg, but you'll find with people like that nobody likes them.

What is the point in revenge? This will not make you happy in the long term, neither this other person. You should try to talk, communicate with this person and resolve any issue you have. If not possible, just forget and move on, life is to short to loose on unproductive things, trust me

Exactly they enjoy it. Getting revenge won't get you on their level (even though many think this), because the reasons for their/your actions are different even when the actions are similar.

More accurately it is what the individual would do within a certain context. If you are on a desert island with no food or shelter and someone steals your cave and eats your only pig. You'd kill the bastard. Karma is more relevant in the times you are able to transcend out of the base needs of the diagram below. If you have a big farm house and are a pig farmer with many pigs and you find someone has eaten a pig and and broke into your house to sleep in your bed - You dont wish death upon them.(i hope)

Depends on what started it and how destructive is the revenge, and its consequences. In a nutshell, pull a prank as revenge, yes. Go beat up someone, no.

Depends on what the revenge is for. Somebody cuts me off on the freeway I ignore it and just wish they drive into a pole. Somebody hacks my TF2 server I just quit playing the game.
Somebody murders my family then I have nothing to live for (even though I could start a new life) and I would go Liam Neeson Taken on them.

Why do you care so much about getting banned from a shitty private server?
As I said, It was more of an example, Rather than it destroyed my life And the reason why it was an example is because it was one of the few times I could get revenge. But does "could" mean "should"

Revenge is a destructive force and can easily consume you, but it does feel good to exact it lol. Whether you or I should dish out some revenge is always down to the individual circumstances and what actually happened. Sometimes it's better to forgive especially if they are genuinely sorry or apologize, but other times the crime or person is not worth forgiving.
