when will this coin be launched?

We're doing a small crowdfunding raise in part to help pay the GPGTools team to add in support for RFC-6637 which is the perfect intersection between crypto currencies and PGP encryption for email.

http://www.rfc-base.org/txt/rfc-6637.txt

The current plan is to spin up a test net and run a simulation and gather feedback so that we can correctly model the blockchain transaction types.

Once we're collectively (and I do mean WE and COLLECTIVELY) happy with the design, we will create a genesis block from all the public keys of our supporters and then host a world-wide key signing party!

1. Is there a escrow?
2. can you brief the main innovation of this coin in short words?

No escrow at this time as we are still modeling as we drive towards the whitepaper.

We will likely offer a Digital Notary Certification service through the non-profit Strength in Numbers Foundation that is backing us.

Creates a vetted web of trust with a reward-based feedback mechanism to develop a crowdsourced reputation system.

Using blockchain technology IDCoins show PROVENANCE with regard to feedback which would expose Sybils and astroturfing within the web.

Undecided  why no people post their idea here

We have been gathering feedback at StartJOIN to date as well as answering questions in the Skype "BITNATION" group.

We are working to make sure that this idea fully supports the goals of Bitnation!

http://www.bitnation.co

So the BitNation project belongs to u too?

And what relationship between BitNation and IDCCOIN?

I am an active participant in the BitNation conversations -- but IDCOIN needs to be an independent organization in order to remain neutral and free from any influence.

We want to support their goals but do not want to have any hard requirements.

Just added another developer to the team who will be working on what could be our first sidechain: CloudCoin

A P2P file store system based on the Web of Trust that could act as a comment-store for feedback (as well as a potential P2P replacement for Facebook!)

Stay tuned!

The IDCoin blockchain would essentially be currency and transaction AGNOSTIC.

This means that individuals using something like KIVA.org could take credit for repaying their micro loans back!

What this means is that we could create an open/public ledger that could render credit reporting bureaus largely irrelevant.

Who's opinion would you trust?  A friend of a friend or some greedy for-profit corporation?

By leveraging some of the ideas implemented in Namecoin that feedback and reputation could be amended over time -- this means that you could essentially agree to show payment schedule performance until the loan was satisfied or discharged and then simply indicate an overall status after some period of time.

Good project.

I have pledged $25 support for now using StartCOIN on StartJOIN.com and will watch this project with interest.

Closed source identity and reputation systems will no doubt become more prevalent in the near future - It is therefore going to be essential to have open source alternatives.

Bitnation - http://bitnation.co - Governance 2.0 - launches in a few days.

I have decided to share some of my internet ramblings on the Bitnation forums...

Quote
A couple of years ago now, myself and a friend of mine from the internet had some online discussions and conducted some fairly detailed research regarding Sovereign Nations, Micronations and about what it is to be a good Citizen in our world today.

Somewhat inspired by the UK documentary of 2005 “How to Start Your Own Country” …

https://wikipedia.org/wiki/How_to_Start_Your_Own_Country (available to watch on youtube)

We set out to try and overcome some of the issues presented to existing Micronations with regards to them not being considered to be truly “Sovereign”.

We tried to envisage an open source, decentralized, internet-based Macronation, with open governance by the people through social media and with local representation, perhaps something very similar to what Bitnation is offering to its future Citizens.

According to the Montevideo Convention https://wikipedia.org/wiki/Montevideo_Convention

“The state as a person of international law should possess the following qualifications: (a) a permanent population; (b) a defined territory; (c) government; and (d) capacity to enter into relations with the other states.”

The most difficult aspect is in finding an independent or unclaimed territory to become a fully fledged ‘Sovereign Nation’.

https://wikipedia.org/wiki/Terra_nullius

“land belonging to no one, which is used in international law to describe territory which has never been subject to the sovereignty of any state, or over which any prior sovereign has expressly or implicitly relinquished sovereignty. Sovereignty over territory which is terra nullius may be acquired through occupation, though in some cases doing so would violate an international law or treaty.”

Human Rights – https://wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_rights

Universal Declaration of Human Rights – https://wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Declaration_of_Human_Rights

Right to Privacy – https://wikipedia.org/wiki/Right_to_privacy

Considering “The state as a person of international law…” with an Individual Right to Privacy provides a perfect paradox within the Montevideo Convention when combined with encryption and/or blockchain technologies…

We are CryptoLand (Bitnation).

We are the Birth of a New Nation State.

We are a Future for Our World and Humanity.

We are Sentinel, Universal and Inalienable.

We are Rights and Freedoms.

We are Tolerant and Accepting.

We are Polity and Entity.

We are Privacy and Security.

We are Openness and Transparency.

We are a Dream and a Reality.

We are CryptoLand (Bitnation).

Polity – https://wikipedia.org/wiki/Polity

“A polity is a state … It is generally understood to mean a geographic area with a corresponding government … body politic was also understood to mean “the physical person of the sovereign:”

Entity – https://wikipedia.org/wiki/Entity

“In law, a legal entity is an entity that is capable of bearing legal rights and obligations, such as a natural person or an artificial person (e.g. business entity or a corporate entity).”

Natural and Legal Rights: https://wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural_and_legal_rights

“Natural rights are those not contingent upon the laws, customs, or beliefs of any particular culture or government, and therefore universal and inalienable (i.e., cannot be sold, transferred, or removed).”

We surpassed our bootstrapping goal of $500 USD on StartJOIN !

https://www.startjoin.com/idcoin

We have now begun compiling the white paper from the nearly two years of research notes and hundreds of hours of conversations we've had with people WAY smarter than us :-)

Work in Progress on Google Docs

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1UIbYc6swFKA5p0y26WG0RZMZC296zZuZx19fBb33wHY/edit?usp=sharing

Thank you everyone for your support!

Target date of December 1 for the first official draft release and the first IDServer sandbox online around that time as well.

"Strength in Number Foundation" is something you run, correct? You keep speaking as if it's a third-party, so if it is your non-profit, that might be something you want to be careful to be candid about

Anyhow, I look forward to the whitepaper. Cheers

It is its own entity.  "The body corporate" -- it exists with or without my help.

Someday it might become a DAO.

Either way, my hope is that it outlives me...
