it's been ABUSED big time by older moron members like vod that thinks he's the self annoited gestapo of bct

he should be banned for pissing on so many newbs threads

plus a few nutters like him that want to harass people over religion and crap

that have NO TRADES and put negative stuff on accounts BUYING crap

so this forum needs to do two things

1. get rid of trust bs, everyone is equal
2. start having some decorum, put BUYER BEWARE on the forum and let it rule itself with a few rules

no name calling
no profanity to extremes other than an occasional slip
no drugs
nothing illegal

if some company or dude with assets wants to offer them this place should ENCOURAGE IT

Lot's of dough in the world but they sure won't come here when you have clowns like vod

how about no begging for thousands of bitcoins

also:  no pretending you're a big shot corporation when you're a 2-bit weasel.

It's always been said that you can edit the trust system to your hearts desire but it acts as a indicator and not a solid scam detection system.

You do realize it will just change your perception on others, not the other way round, right?

You do realize we didn't always have exchanges or local bitcoins.com, right? And if you want to buy or sell ฿500, there aren't many places to do that easily...
I don't think there are any places you could buy or sell 500btc without causing a major spike or crash in prices.

A private sale would prevent that. See the Silk Road bitcoin auction as an example. Had those 30,000 seized bitcoins been dumped on an exchange, it probably would have eaten through every single buy order and crashed the price to 0 in an instant.
Exactly.  Hence the ratings.

Hardforks aren't that hard. It’s getting others to use them that's hard.

The problem isn't the trust system. It's DefaultTrust. Just trust who you want to trust.

True.

The problem isn't the trust system. It's DefaultTrust.

But a default trust list can help newbies to get a sense of others' trustworthiness when they have no idea who is to trust.
It may not be perfect, but it does help in that sense IMO.

Yeah, I agree here. DefaultTrust is not all evil. I would recommend switching to something better afterwards though, when you have a better sense of the community.

Forever strong.
