Apple is sort of a joke as a company.

The malibu barbies of the real world.

"Oh that Malibu barby has a new hat and its only 10 dollars more?  SOLD"

"Oh that iPad still doesn't have a USB port, and its only $100 dollars more?  SOLD"

You are joking isn't? Smiley

Apple is a legend and a cradle of desktop computers.

Even with many mistakes they are still not a joke. Smiley

It is a slight joke with exaggeration.

Apple is the only company I know of that basically says "fuck you customers, we are doing this shit my way"  PS, we are going to overcharge the shit out of you too.

I really like their products they do work great.  But you can get it so much cheaper anywhere you look and they still have refused to put a USB charger on an iPad....insane!

I am not saying I am an Apple fan as I haven't got even one "Apple" device at the moment Smiley I agree that their company policy is quite not good to me and prices are way to high for their devices Smiley

But still - they are "Apple" Smiley

If they made Fake Shit and sold it for $20 dollars per gag.  They would make a killing.

It's a shame it took them so long to finally bring this back because those who used it would have by now swapped to devices like Android that had it meaning Apple have already lost customers. I myself am happy to see they have brought it back however I like probably quite a few others was one of the ones that swapped when they got rid in the first place.

I am glad to see Apple accept Bitcoin, it is the largest company in the world and other companies will follow it hopefully.

Maybe they realized that Bitcoin users who are serious about carrying cryptocurrencies around on a tablet were going to switch to Android. The Blockchain app is back in their store. http://www.wired.com/2014/07/blockchain-back/?mbid=social_fb

I'm glad to hear this!
Over time this will help global acceptance of Bitcoin.
Bitcoin is slowly but surely on its way to become mainstream.
Of course, ''big companies'' like Apple will not accept Bitcoin if they don't see some benefit or profit from it Smiley

Apple also tried launching their own clothing line in the 80's. I don't know how expensive those clothes were, but they were certainly something:

Like it or not Apple is the way to get things to the masses...look at all the stupid apps that have millions of sales.  Now for something worthwhile like Bitcoin wallet to get on iphones.

Yes Apple was missing out on some BTC action. I see several altcoins also making Android wallets, etc as well as the ones for BTC.

They're approving them for quite a while, yeah. I'm still not sure why they changed their minds! Is it really because they don't want to lose the Bitcoin community? I'm afraid that they're too small, still. But I guess it could be that Bitcoin is getting big enough to not be waved off as some kind of silly experiment.

I don't think Apple is supporting bitcoin. As bitcoin is well known now, they don't want to be labeled the platform which does not allow bitcoin apps.

The receiving addresses are way too cluttered in blockchain.info's app. Plus, archived addresses are inced as well. Expecting an update.

The signature campaign posters adding useless redundant fluff to their posts to reach their minimum word count are lowering my IQ.

They probably wanted to get clarification am AML laws from the Feds. I would speculate that they were worried that allowing bitcoin wallets on their app store would make them a MSB, but since they do not verify identities (nor do they have a system in place for this) they would not be in compliance.

Another possibility is that they wanted more information about bitcoin before they semi endorse it by allowing wallets on their app store.

They are supporting it enough to allow wallet apps in the app store. That is good enough for me.

For me news about Apple saying they will take positive measures for Bitcoin is the same as PBOC declations they support Bitcoin.

It is a lie and won't happen

The only reason I'm with apple is because I don't even own a phone, but an iPod. They're good for music, which is what I use it for. As soon as I get around to needing a cell phone I'm going with android though, mostly because it appeals to my tastes a lot better and is more open source to code.

I don't think the PBOC has said they support bitcoin. Apple actually is allowing BTC related apps.
