Managed to brought thousands of CKC at rate 0.00000820.

Any news from DEV ? Dev last post was September 21, 2014, 01:16:24 PM.

This is a serious project. There is no need for the devs to post here just to make conversation. They only post updates and important announcements. If you check the thread from the beginning, you'll find that the dev sometimes does not show up on here for days. The PR phase is starting soon anyway and @BitsendInc already said that they would appoint a community manager to handle this thread. There is nothing you need to worry about. Relax and hodl  Wink
I started today the promotion of $CKC on twitter.

Hello Checkcoin enthusiasts,

Even though we have been working on PR for a while. Today officially marks the start of our PR phase!

Things we are working on right now:

Creating a promotional video for Checkcoin.
Updating the Checkcoin websites.
Updating the Checkcoin blog.
Updating the Checkcoin Facebook page.
Setting up a Reddit channel for Checkcoin.
Translating the Bitsend website to English.
Updating the Bitsend website with more information about Checkcoin.

We feel that right now these are the things that require our attention first. We are still waiting for some quotations from PR firms and have been speaking to several PR firms that could help with the promotion of Checkcoin. Unfortunately we have not yet spoken to any PR firm that has been able to convince us that they are capable of promoting a cryptocurrency like Checkcoin. This has everything to do with the fact that most PR firms we have been speaking to don't even know what Bitcoin is. Because of this, we believe that it might be a better idea to use our already strong community to come up with great ideas that will promote Checkcoin.

For now we would like to ask you a very simple question: What would you like to see happen to promote Checkcoin?

Bitsend

You should do a preliminary paid pressrelease via http://www.prweb.com/ it will cost $500
All PRweb releases are picked up by Yahoo finance and other large news outlets. That will give people on Twitter an easy way to share links to articles and create a little buzz.

Make sure your pressrelease is well written and checked for spelling errors. You might want to set a bounty for having native English speakers proofread it and correct grammar and sentence structure.
Also emphasize the fact that Checkcoin is the linking pin between crypto and real world applications, this is key.

After the initial distribution via PRweb you can look for PR firms.

I have experience in writing pressreleases, I think I have an idea how it should be put together to entice people to look at Checkcoin and possibly get a little hype going.
However English is not my first language, so it should be proofread by a native speaker, but that shouldn't be a problem.

I could proofread your pressrelease for key points, content and general direction. I would do that for free since I am invested in Checkcoin and possibly will benefit from the increased exposure.

For now we would like to ask you a very simple question: What would you like to see happen to promote Checkcoin?

Next week or some later I hope to visit you and talk about the big picture in my mind.
Today is was the kickoff for the Marketing/promotion face and I like the steps you have posted.
Missing is a forum but because the geolocation feature is not operational at this moment setup a forum is maybe to early.
A forum can contribute to community building, maybe check if there existing forums where they talk about Geocaching but also GIS-fora and Crowdsourcing of maps communities (eg Open streetmap). On that field I can contribute and I see great possibilities.

Also there should be a community manager appointed asap. Lots of new investors or new people in the crypto world will get jumpy when they don't get fed with updates on a daily basis.

In my opinion these steps should be taken:

1. Appoint a community manager that will liasion between your dev team/company and the community/investors. So the devs can focus on product development without needing to personally update here.
2. Get the PRweb release running
3. Get someone to do PR in person in The Netherlands. He/she should get shops interested in hosting a Checkcoin faucet/accept Checkcoin payment.
4. Create a (digitalized) product portfolio in Dutch for the person mentioned above.

After the above steps, approach Dutch news outlets. Checkcoin being mentioned on Dutch radio/TV would be huge

Other ideas:

1. The Flitsmeister app works by people adding traffic information. Reward them in Checkcoins for adding this information. With 500k daily users this is an immense market.
2. Approach (tech) web stores that also have physical stores, let them calculate how much they spend on shipping costs. Emphasize the benefits of rewarding customers that come to the shop with Checkcoins compared to shipping costs.
3. Capitalize on the new found legitimacy of Bitcoin by mentioning the deal with Paypal. Explain that Checkcoin is a cryptocurrency like Bitcoin but with enhanced features.

I think they have plenty idea's but when idea's born in a community have much more value.
Use your imagination, coins linked to geolocation feature is very innovative and can give so much possibilities.

What better way to get attention for a smartphone-based coin then to use QR code?
Start spreading the word by means of stickers.

This is just an example, but it works Wink

for starters there should be a more lively discussion in this thread to keep it on top of the ANN page.

going by other coins examples i would say the most effective marketing is to swarm out and spread the word everywhere on the web. twitter, facebook, reddit and whatever else there is.
we need an army of 'footsoldiers', fun memes, well done animated videos, some artwork to spread and show the possibilies of the tech. its important to explain on how to utilize the coins unique features in a fun and easy way.

a reddit add campaign would be good, if we can come up with a good slogan and some artwork. maybe something along the lines of 'explore the world and hunt for treasures' and some cool pirate treasure artwork to go with it.

edit: what we should not do is spam bitcointalk with useless threads.
are there any other major crypto forums? if so we need threads there and someone to maintain them.

edit2: how about a bounty for the best ideas? you were going to pay a marketing firm for this. doesn't have to be much.
