All it says is "pool spam" - yet i checked my messages (for the last 10-20 pages), and I don't consider a single post when a coin is launched to be spam.

If there is a specific issue of this, it would be nice to have this pointed out. Currently now, I am losing revenue, as I am unable to respond to pool members, any coin issues, new launches, or any of the existing coins - and this hurts me financially - so I would appreciate at least a reason why my account has been suspended for "5 days", when there are plenty of worse offenders who remain untouched.

Thanks

Link me to your account I'm too lazy to check.
I'm pretty sure that you were suspended for a reason, aren't we all?

I don't see too many posts per day and there is a decent amount of time between them.
Wait for the moderator who issued the ban to see this thread.

Recently the only things deleted are from self moderated threads, and I've never had a post deleted that was related to any pool spam.

I didn't even know they can do that. They banned you from posting or it's just your account mess up or some type of glitch ?  Huh

I wouldn't see a problem with that either, but you aren't.

Advertising your pool more than once per 24 hours in the same thread is too much. As for others, you're hardly the only one banned for it, at least a dozen this week have been.

You're also ban evading by continuing on this account.

In addition to what BadBear has posted, I would like to assert that your loss of revenue is not due to the fact that you are unable to post on this forum but because you are not advertising your service legitimately. Posting about your service on this forum is free advertising, and therefore should be treated as additional revenue instead of common revenue. Business entities do not "lose revenue" by not posting in third party forums. The fact that your service is esoteric and is aimed primarily at members of this discussion board does not obligate the staff to indulge you for whatever reason. If you are selling a service that cannot survive without relying on an external party allowing you to freely advertise on its forum, then your business model is clearly fundamentally flawed. Blaming the forum for a supposed "loss of revenue" because they won't allow you to post as you please is just ungrateful and completely unprofessional.

I'm actually glad this thread was made, I've been thinking about it lately. I'm thinking ahead here, I already know the next response is going to be "I've never heard that rule before!".  While it's true that there is no published rule about it, as long as people were reasonable about it, it was fine, but it's getting worse. If we need to make a rule about it, I'm not even sure we should be allowing it in the first place. Outside alt currencies we wouldn't allow advertising your pool anywhere but the Mining section. I'm inclined to think pools should make one thread in mining, and stick to there.

Agreed.
Provided it's a bitcoin mining pool. This thread is about an altcoin mining pool though and it has no place cluttering up the bitcoin mining section.

Alt currencies has it's own mining section if you forgot.  Tongue

Advertising mining pools is no longer allowed, including, but not limited to, altcoin announcement threads.  Mining pool ops should make one thread within the Mining section of Alt Currencies. Do not make a separate thread for each coin. Most OP's already link to pools available so advertising your pool is unnecessary and leads to too much spam.

Let the drama begin.  Roll Eyes

Hi,

Thanks for your responses and clarification. Would a response to a query about the pool in the actual Alt-Coin thread be also considered as spam (for example "Your pool is not paying out" - when a response about coinbase maturity times is needed).

I presume that the correct way then now would be to PM the coin op/dev with the pool details and let them update their OP?

Can I kiss you? I was getting really sick and tired off all the pool bullshit in those announcement threads. Now I feel like reading them again, so thank you for getting rid of it. Go BadBear!

Hi,

Thanks for your responses and clarification. Would a response to a query about the pool in the actual Alt-Coin thread be also considered as spam (for example "Your pool is not paying out" - when a response about coinbase maturity times is needed).

Best option would be to direct them to the proper place to ask their question, your dedicated thread in mining.

Yes.

Thanks for your responses.

So we are allowed to Post a link to the main thread as a response - eg "I have replied to your points here: [link]"?

Also, are you planning to make the same rules for Exchanges, Gambling Sites, Services and such which again profit from such postings.
