scramble.io is another privacy oriented service. Very sparce, often down, but they do supply a ready-to-use encryption solution for your mail.

I don't know about the best.....but stay away from bloody yandex you dont recieve half of the emails which have been sent to your address.

If you don't want every tom, dick and harry reading your personal emails, you'd be best avoiding all the popular NSA friendly email providers (yahoo,gmail etc) check out http://prxbx.com/email/Thanks for the link. I was looking for that list for a while now.

I think there is one called safemail.net, based in Israel, that's supposed to be one of the safest mail providers, but you never know

I logged into two Zoho accounts I abandoned at least two, three years ago. Nice they didn't delete my accounts for inactivity.
I had a slow connection at the time and really disliked the zoho interface. It took forever to load back then.
They have bumped up storage to 5 gigs and implemented 2FA. Sweet!
Still no ads. Sweet!
