It appears the official website had a redesign.  It now has a newer look and some new content.

Fake marscoin page and website Warning
There appears to be another fake marscoin facebook page and website; from the logo its likely related to the previous scam. Although the fake website has been taken down, annoyingly the facebook page has more likes than the official page - which suggests it caused a lot of confusion and bad publicity for many people.

Delisting notice:
It is not all good news however -
Cryptopia seems to have gone the way of other medium exchanges and started deleting all but the top 10 cryptocoins, including Marscoin.  I guess it's to become just another poloniex clone now.   

I've asked for clarification over which particular area of concern has it delisting.   But I expect it is for one of the following reasons - either bad publicity/confusion with the fake marscoin (mentioned above), not enough sales volume, not enough engagment from the developers, or issues on the official pool.    The network itself seems healthy enough with plenty of nodes (hot node list to follow below) and plenty of hash rate (over 500,000,000H last i checked) and plenty of pools available to mine it (although with cryptopia delisting I expect the multipools may drop if from their rotation)

Nova exchange still lists Marscoin, but I dont have an account there so I cant say if it is usable or not.

The Mars Society has just announced their support for Marscoin and the fact that we now have over 1M marscoins donated.  This was done after the passage of the new Colorado Digital Token Act and some extensive research & consultations we did.  Non-profits do not have a lot of guidance around cryptocurrency donations, but we are throwing our hat into the ring now.

Marscoin is forging stronger ties with the Mars Society this year, and the DEVs are currently discussing ways to add to the functionality of marscoin.
They also have a discord now.   Follow MarsCoin on facebook (or your preferred platform) or check their website out periodically to keep up to date.
The network is very active at the moment reported hashrate at the moment is 3,874,509.96 KH/s (yowzers!)

Other Crypto News (or perhaps speculative gossip would be more accurate)
Perhaps not surprisingly Cryptopia called in receivers a year or so after a banking group purchased a majority chunk of their shares and started interferring with its operation (such interferences like delisting altcoins (including marscoin), shutting down the marketplace, closing the mining pools, deleting the popular dotto lotto etc)  and shortly after several million dollars in supernet (eth xmr ripple etc) altcoins were mysteriously stolen from their cold wallets ultimately forcing Cryptopia to file.   The Mysterious part is the cold wallets in question could theoretically only have been accessed by those high placed in the organisation..  such as the above mentioned banking group..  funds continued to disappear even after all the cryptopia equipment had been siezed by federal police and trading suspended - which suggests someone got a hold of the private keys.     Those same missing coins then began slowly appearing on foreign crypto exchanges.  The Plot thickens.   No word yet what has become of the roughly 200 million dollars of non-supernet alt coin and bitcoin that was NOT stolen, and was still held for traders.      Best guess is all trades will be cancelled, and they will allow traders at some point to login briefly to withdrawal their funds.. (what funds are left after the recievers decide to help themselves to it too) but given the court system does not understand crypto, the funds could just as easily be lost - they will probably not be very obvious WHEN traders can log in to withdraw, and many may miss out.

Marscoin related news
Something odd has been occuring to the Marscoin mining pools.  The official pool has been getting knocked offline to the point it is almost perminently offline now.

My own pool, "the Other Marscoin pool"  was also knocked out a few weeks ago shortly after a heavy round of mining followed by someone dumping RDP connect attempts into the mining port.   Whatever it did prevented it from being able to assign shareID to the miners mining it anymore, generating null shareIDs which MPOS cannot work around.   I have been actively attempting to resolve it - have made some progress but there seems to be something else interferring with the network as a  whole complicating matters.

Mining dutch, another Marscoin mining pool also seems to have decided to throw in the towel as well.    Their backend seems to have dropped as well.

Elon Musk is looking to land a rocket on Mars within the next year or three. Several incremental tech prototypes have already been tested, and he plans to land within this decade..

There is quite a lot of discussion within the Mars Society groups about the best way to colonise Mars, arguments range from Terraforming, which generally seems unfeasable, to construction of modular or large scale habitats.    A number of very stylish designs for residential modules have been posted, and NASA even has a working mock up prototype of a mobile laboratory/Rover they exhibit at conventions sometimes.

Marscoin News:
Elon Musk when asked about a Mars Economy replied that he planned to use a Cryptocurrency, and draft their own colonial constitution.  When someone suggested "marscoin", he replied, yes.  This caused quite a stir in the Crypto/Altcoin community, as now the Marscoin community has become rather busy again with active miners and speculation.

The Marscoins pools and explorer are currently working after some issues last year caused some hiccups.

Security / Trader Warning
Bitforex  has added a premined "Network token"   called the "Mars Network Token"  using the Marscoin currency code "MARS" which as far as we can tell does nothing useful, has a generic altcoin website and has nothing to do with Mars, Marscoin or SpaceX.  This may cause chaos on coin market cap websites that monitor Marscoin performance.   Trader / buyer beware if you use BitForex.  Trade stats, prices and volumes listed on coin market websites may be wrong due to this coin.     We hope forex relabel their token as MNT or MARN or similar to avoid confusion.
