So! Updates for June 14th, 2021  Smiley

Let's see. After a long wait, AltMarket should finally be returning in the next 24 hours. The AltMarket company has restructured and Kamal Hubbard (http://www.kamalrhubbard.com/) is the CEO; Bryce is now the CTO.

Kamal has recently published a book called DeFi for the Diaspora:
https://www.lulu.com/en/us/shop/kamal-hubbard/defi-for-the-diaspora/paperback/product-g48vrp.html

The two of them recently discussed Tao and more in this livestream:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5NRV2EbSOk

We should also see Shifu, the Tao governance app, come out of beta in the near future. Once it and AM are available, there will be an announcement about the Tao Board of Governors' first election. This has been waiting until AM and non-beta Shifu were both available so people who have their funds on AM could withdraw it and vote for the masternode operators who will become the first members of the governance board.

The other big news is that Tao will be added to BigOne exchange, which is a top 25 exchange on CoinMarketCap, and a popular exchange in China. This opens up a big new market for Tao! It also should get XTO back on CMC after it was misleadingly delisted some time ago.

BigOne will be hosting a $10,000 contest for people depositing and/or trading Tao, details are forthcoming. They will be doing additional PR for Tao, I think primarily focusing on the new-to-Tao China market, including AMAs.

BigOne will also be adding a Tao staking pool, and futures trading will be added once volume kicks in.

Tao is of course also still available on qTrade https://qtrade.io/market/XTO_BTC - should be some good arb opportunities coming up with three markets.

More cool stuff coming down the pike.   Cool

Edit: fixed qTrade URL since they changed it

Quick heads up: You forgot to clean out the extremely obvious bot activity. It would be _slightly_ more believable if it hadn't been going on since at least April in the trading history, while the exchange has been down for "an audit, a few days" since over half a year.

I'm sure that it's, as usual, all on the up-and-up though, and that any one of the three people liking Bryce's tweet will surely buy in so you can get out.

Who are you talking to? Me? It seems like it because you refer to Bryce in your last sentence, and I'm the only person who posts updates here. Yet I have nothing to do with the operation of the exchange, so I don't know why you think I'd be able to "clean up" anything.  Huh

And as for your typical psychological projection, I'm not trying to "get out" of anything. Yes, I'll sell a percentage of my XTO once the price gets to a high enough level, but only a minority percentage. After that the plan is to trickle some of my monthly income from it to pay bills, etc.

Most of my funds are tied up in a smart contract earning me more coins and I can't get them back for 75 days after canceling my masternode even if I wanted to. Which I have no plans to do.

Well whoever ran the bots seem to keep an eye on this thread anyway, since they seem to have been shut down pretty close to my previous post.

I'm sure that's nothing to worry about.

And anyway, I do think it's much healthier to have an exchange where absolutely nothing happens at all than one where there is constant fraud.

Edit: Lol I spoke too soon. Bots are back on the menu, baby!

Imagine being so feverishly paranoid that you freak out over someone using the API for some low volume trades

You're asking if a failed scam has any potential of a revival. Pretty obvious the answer is "no, it does not."

You're better off mining Bitconnect.

I would definitely recommend withdrawing your coins from qTrade to MetaMask or similar wallet.

The project stalled out due to lack of funds after the pandemic situation, while there's obviously no guarantees in life, there is something in the works that should bring in the needed funds to move ahead.

Only details I can give you at the moment is that it relates to this thread:

https://twitter.com/BryceWeiner/status/1461951143857176579

To use MetaMask you'll need to add a custom network. Use these settings:

RPC:
https://taorpc.mining.center

Chain ID:
558

You can also stake your coins by either setting up a masternode (100K coins required) or pledge them as delegates to an existing masternode using

http://taoshifu.mining.center:9000/

Hope that helps!

April 27, 2020 update:

Bryce and AltMarket have been featured in part of an article in today's New York Times

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/27/technology/startups-sba-loans-backlash.html

http://acgimg.s3.amazonaws.com/Bryce-AltMarket-New-York-Times-2020-04-27.jpg

You'll note that not only does the NY Times vet the legitimacy of people they interview, but AltMarket was able to get approved for a loan through the SBA which is only available to legal, tax-paying businesses. Nice nod to ODBcoin, too.

In the meantime, the new Ethereum-derived/EVM-based Tao network is up and running and is in the process of final tests before it will be possible to swap your coins over to the new network.

Coming shortly after will be mobile wallets; more to come after that. Expect a series of further announcements.  Smiley

Did Bryce Weiner pay back his covid loan yet?
