No I would never buy a hardware wallet because I already have a paper wallet and I'm pretty happy with it so for me its not necessarily these days.

I like my paper wallets, but they are for my truly cold storage "coins don't leave here" wallet. For something that I would want to store a large amount of value on, but still spend, id spring for the hardware wallet. They need to get a little cheaper before I bite howevr, lol.

Hi all,

I am doing some research for a Bitcoin company that is interested with developing a hardware wallet to see if it has a viable market. Trezor has some traction, but perhaps only in the existing Bitcoin community. With things like Multi-sig popping up everywhere, do you think this negates some of the pressing need for Hardware wallets? Interested to hear your thoughts.

I dont think so. I think there is still plenty space for new hardware wallets. Getting a more competitive price is good for customers. I think you could still compete with other companies if you offer a nice design. I dont know why people dont make custom designed hardware wallets like fantasy themed. I wouldn't mind having a skull shaped wallet or a dragons head. That would be awesome.

In my case i dont reallt need those one since i dont really a fan of storing huge amount or staking them for so long since i regularly/weekly or even monthly sell my bitcoins since i need some spare allowance to be used and i think those people who needs hardware wallets are those company or rich one who have businesses that needs their bitcoin to be safe sleeping and that is good and ideal for them not for small players.

Hardware wallet is good if you have  huge amount of bitcoin but if you have  small quantity of it it would be no need since theres an online wallet you can rely on  and also  it doesnt need  to those person who actively spent their bitcoins. Hardware wallet is for  big holders only.

I would buy a hardware wallet if  i have lost of bitcoin in my holdings but  sad to say im only gaining not more than 1btc.lol. Hardware wallets could be risky though since its prone  to accidents if you dont pay attention to it, it might be lost or stolen by someone. Hardware wallet  would be expensive as i searched the prices of it even that i cant  even afford it.

That's why you must always keep more then one back up. Always backup the .wallet file on your hardrive , hardware wallet and external or USB stick. Even keep a paper wallet copy with the full keyphrase in your safe.

Lol If you feel like that keep your hardware wallet in your bank locker and then i would suggest you to use simple desktop like bitcoin core. To make its secured is upto your concern only. Best what ever you think as safety Please try to do that.

Because this is much better than other wallets online. Online wallets can scam you but not on hardware wallets. So I would suggest that I prefer to buy Hardware wallet rather than Online wallet if this will be a secure and fast wallet and offers more options.

Well, if it makes use of bitcoin becomes easier in the real world, maybe I'll buy it, but if the price is low. you know, if you're using bitcoin in the real world it would be very cool, but it may have no effect at my place for now, because everywhere I use bitcoin is still very little is known. so, maybe this time I better save the money to buy it at the right time

I have seen hardware ledger wallets going for $100 is this a good price and why so much ? It seems over priced but I don't know maybe it costs more to make because of the features. Much more then USB stick but i know it is different technology.

Multisig just got hacked, ask BitGos automation processes.

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the world, and lose his own soul?

Yes, i always do that safety precautions on some other things  that needs to keep secret passcodes, questions, keys etc.  If i have a hardware wallet then i would  definitely keep those important codes that secures my funds. Money is important to our lives in able  to survive for living and we must take care of our funds.

Hardware wallet is best if you want to store your coins safely but unless someone has more than 5-10 bitcoins, buying a hardware wallet is not feasible

Hardware wallet  would be  recommended if you have thousands or even  hundreds of bitcoin but if you only posses a little amount then dont bother to buy any hardware wallet  because it would  cost you more on buying that thing and you just put a little amount of it. Having many bitcoins would do, i would definitely buy a hardware wallet.

There are some potential risks if you buy a hardware wallet, such as losing it or even someone stole it.

Both online and hardware wallet  have potential risk of losing your bitcoin into it. Just put up to your mind the most important things to consider to be kept on a safe place like passwords, keys so that incase your account would be lost  you can retrieve it.

comparing online wallet and hardware wallet are not ideal comparison ,
compare it with paper wallet ,
hardware wallet have better security than paper wallet because when used paper wallet you must be imported to a software ,
also on hardware wallet you will not get hacked easily as you used a wallet on your pc which have a lot of viruses ,
i am planning to buy a hardware wallet later if my bitcoin investment reached 50 bitcoin or so.

Well, this time I do not need a hard wallet, because the current online wallet has been very useful to me. other than that you can download for android blockchain application you use, well, I think you can assume it is hard wallet though very far from reality. but, now I have not needed it, so I do not want to buy it for today

Its all about peoples preference if  he intended to buy a hardware wallet or not it depends  on how  helpful if he use it. Some may need a hardware wallet for those big holders of bitcoin but some may  choose online wallet rather than hardware wallet. Its depends on our decisions though.
