Crypto - digital currency.
I would prefer commodity as it sounds more like something you could touch, a digital commodity is like that but then in the electric world.

Nah, it is just another altcoin made for pump and dump. It is not even related to Bitcoin except the fact that it is cryptocurrency.

I've noticed, at least on 90% of all threads I've been on, that bitcoiners tend to overuse a lot of buzzwords. Altcoiners Especially tend to use Innovation/Innovative for some reason as well  Roll Eyes. The most used words and phrases I've seen are:

1) Innovative

2) Decentralized

3) Centralized

4) Innovation

5) To the Moon

6) Scam

7) FUD

8.) HODL

9) Satoshi

10) ASIC

11) Revolutionary

12) Blockchain

13) Skyrocket

14) Troll

15) Fiat

16) Pump and Dump

17) Whale

18) Goxxed

19) Ponzi

20) Anonymous

Shouldn't Bitcoin be added to this list? Wink

Someone should make one of those word cloud things and run it on some of the subforms here so we can truly see which words are over used. Wink

Too much talk about paper and brain wallets. More people probably messed up and lost their coins than people that managed to save them thanks to using a paper or brain wallet.

Definitely HODL. Why the hell is it spelt like that anyway? How did it start out. Is it the name of a character in a movie or something?

There's a thread in the speculation subforum where someone misspelled hold in the title and it caught on from there.

He-he I was wondering where that came from but I think it predates the forum somewhere else though or maybe it did originate from here interesting.

LOL. I think the OP should repost and lock the thread and the new thread should be stickied somewhere. It is more or less accurate.

Not a word per say but "Coming Economic Collapse."

Also Illuminati.

The ubiquity of these is why I don't refer my friends to this forum to learn about Bitcoin.

I haven't seen any online communities where the illuminati conspiracy didn't turn up frequently.
I think the word "illuminati" only represents the skewed wealth distribution of our world, as in the 0.1% owns the majority of wealth and ultimately owns everything.

The "coming economic collapse" is not a myth though it's clearly in progress.

"Bitcoin milinaire" would be good addition. Or maybe "early adopted". Also '2009'.
