Online retail giant Overstock is planning to introduce a novel bonus scheme for its employees, prompting them to take bitcoin instead of cash as incentives, as the company's sales in bitcoin recently crossed $2m.

Judd Bagley, a representative for Overstock, told Mashable that the company is trying to figure out how to offer bitcoin bonuses by the end of the year.

He added that employees opting for bitcoin bonus will get a premium over what they would get if they take cash instead.

Patrick Byrne is the marque businessman (non-BTC oriented originally) that all others should follow as we evolve into progressing as mankind away from slave money and compensation.

The headline of this thread made me think he was going to create and pay out in his own coin for some reason, though glad to find this is not the case.

I'm glad that he's promoting Bitcoin, but I also wish Overstock would keep a fraction of the Bitcoin they received from sales instead of converting it all to fiat. Even something as small as 0.5% . Start small and increase the percent kept as bitcoin price grows and/or as his suppliers accept bitcoin.

Aren't "bonuses" taxed 50% in the US?

Saying that you don't trust someone because of their behavior is completely valid.
