when EMD became a POS coin, we will see the light
i don't mind this idea.
1. the dev seems to be AWOL
2. i would prefer merge mine onto LTC
3. if we can survive for 6-8 months, gain a few more exchanges, then flipping to a proven stakes code base is not a bad idea
4. better yet a POS/POW hybrid

This said EMD is POW and we ought try bring more pools and more exchanges any fork can be well planned out, preannounced for months, and proven talent brought in.

POS coins have big issues with inflation & this is not were EMD is heading. NO WAY!!!!!!!
EMD is a RARE coin(GEM) with FASTER TRANSACTIONS and excellent POW code.
Few Key points...
1. The Dev is around from time to time though AWOL perhaps. (Good because there is no pump and dump intentions here).
2. The Dev said the block reward was due to halve in October. (IT HAPPENED now only 2.5EMD per block).
3. The block rewards are halving again every 6 months. (perhaps merge mine with LTC in the future).
4. EMD will become more rare (Price to the Moon).
This is how a precious coins should be treated.
