i used a snapshot ... but the snaphot is a few months old ... it still take a lot of time, the wallet sync will take about a week with that shapshot

This depends on who asks:
If you want to support EMD, mining is one way.
If you want big fast money, then there are better alt coins.
If you are a new crypto user, EMD is a great choice, a big block chain,

My wallet stops syncing at block 5639796. Debug log shows erros. Any Ideas?
I used the last snapshot to sync. Tried it twice but stops at the same point.

hello,
you can delete the directories chainstate, database, blocks
DO NOT DELETE wallet.dat
extract the last blockchain snapshot in the Emerald Directory and start the wallet
the Wallet should start reading the bootstrap.dat file and build the blockchain. check the progress in the debug.log file

start the wallet (emerald-qt.exe) with -rescan option
