Hi. I've moved my old wallet.dat file and it shows an old label, so I know it actually imported into the new emerald installation. I mined this coin 4 years ago on some pool in the eu, but despite this, I can't find any transactions with any of my Receive addresses on the Emerald blockchain explorer. And a balance of 0.00 shows in the software. There's a time-gap between nov. 19 2013 and august 26 2014 on coinmarketcap's emerald graph, and the date on my wallet.dat file is late december 2013. Was there something that happened after/during 2013 that might be the cause of this? I thought perhaps I mined this directly to an exchange address, although it was part of the coins I set aside to hold. Any suggestions?

can you export your private keys from your old wallet ? do it asap
check the balance of your public at the block chain explorer before.

if you mine directly to an exchange address than your balance was the exchange balance and if the exchange was cryptsy, then you have lost your emerald balance

I do not think I mined directly to an exchange address. It was just speculation. (but hell, maybe I did. Maybe they weren't sent to these addresses.) Not sure If I've ever used Cryptsy.

February 2014 - Picasso abandoned the Emerald project
August 2014 - Emerald rebranded to Emerald crypto and taken over by Gary (https://garycalvert.com/emerald-crypto-4-years-20-second-blocks-counting/)
November 2015 - i start care for the Emerald project and spidersbox developes a new wallet for Emerald

on 31-08-2014 there was a fork made by gary (wallet 0.8.2.1)
