I'd hardly say that I take it seriously, but I do enjoy some of the analysis threads.  The "oh my god" threads are sometimes entertaining, but I'd take everything in here with a pretty big grain of salt.

Not really, no. Profitable speculators don't give away their secrets.

Well, what's a "secret"? There are a handful of analysts that I watch because they have shown themselves to be consistently profitable. It's easy to pick apart peoples' records, but anyone who is right > 50% of the time in regards to big moves, is worth looking at.

Every trader is different in regards to the system they use... Different timescales, coin pairs, etc, maybe they arbitrage or program bots. Those methods would be considered secrets if they are consistently profitable because the more people using it, the less profitable it will be.

Nah, for the lulz.
Same here.
This forum is pretty hilarious. I really wonder how many people actually believe what they write.

Apologies if this is a little too 'Meta', but I'd like to gauge how all you speculators view this place. You know, get a better grasp of exactly why you post here/read posts here so that I know what to expect from it in the future.

BONUS question -

I find myself reading Speculation too often myself... what is it that keeps you coming back?

You get to see all sides of looking at a certain thing. Most of the times both sides have their valid arguments. Bulls see the positive things of a certain news story and the bears discover the potential caveats. It is up to you to make up your mind how to trade given those information. But don't let yourself be influenced by people on online message boards. Don't Panic trade!

If you shift through the troll posts and the blatant attempts for manipulation, you will find a lot of useful charts and analysis. It has certainly helped me trade well. Much easier to spot trends by hanging around here.

Its also a lot of fun, especially once you note who the serial trolls and FUD spreaders are. There was also this one guy who was acting as a contra indicator. Everytime he sold price rose and the opposite happened when he bought.

What does he expect bitcoin's price to do in the short term, or has he disappeared now?

Nope. But it's good for a chuckle.

I bought btc between 20-100$ and I have already re-coupes my investment long ago. The btc I hold now are gravy, free essentially. The whole btc trip seems kinda unreal to me, to be honest. Whatever happens, I'm already richer for it, in more ways than one! Lol

I have seen the market mentality expressed here become a reality, but with that said, there are bulls and bears here at any give time.  So, in other words, no.

I enjoy looking at the sentiment, don't take it too seriously though.
