Is there anyone that wants to take a crack at leading the take over? I can lend my services as a web dev, but I don't have enough experience to program a coin by myself.

let's take it over. who is interested ?

You will need a dev in order to take over this coin.
Mantisweb was a nice idea though...

Isn't there any way we can track down the fuckers who pull of these kind of scams?

I'd happily pay for a ticket anywhere to smack these fuckos in the face.

i see everyone is pissed off with devs which is fine but really bitcointalk moderators need to do something about this aswell.its be coming a joke.all these scams are getting launch from their forum and they refuse to do anything.how easy would it be for them to just delete any newbie coin launches or make sure they are verified somehow through PoD or coinsource.they need to do something.anything.just dont sit there and watch.i never got involved with this coin but i came close.

Yes there should be no entry for new coins,,(Atleast from newbies) in the exchanges and also in the forum...the scam of new coins is massive...not only for the investors but also for the future of crypto...i am slient member of this forum and have seen alot scams in last few days...

I  REQUEST EVERYONE HERE TO PLEASE STAND AGAINST THESE KINDA "GET RICH SCAMS" AND PLEASE LET ANY NEW COIN TO PROVE ITSELF BEFORE INVESTING....AND I REQUEST TO THE SENIOR MEMBERS TO PUT A CERTAIN BENCHMARK FOR ANY NEW COIN SPECIALLY FROM NEWBIES....AND DONT LET COINS LIKE ELITE, MANTIS & USBCOIN DESTROY THE REP OF CRYPTOS

I'm interested as I said before, but I'm not a coin dev. I can help with websites, twitter and posting updates here to the community. If there is a coin dev that can help make mantisweb a reality I'm in!

the only way this problem is going to stop is with the creation of a developer registry to act as a proxy for developers.

the registry would verify the developers personal information and development history.

developers would then be able to remain anonymous and use the registry verified seal of approval.

if the developer ended up being a scam, the registry would reserve the right to expose all of their personal information.

the registry could of course charge a fee and/or require some form of deposit.

just a thought. somebody please make this happen as i am not smart enough.

Why is up to the moderators?  If people are dumb enough to buy garbage good for them.  You want a chat moderator to manage your portfolio sir?

while that site is certainly useful, it doesn't really address the issue with brand new coins.

while it would be easy to add mantiscoin to the current list with a negative trust, it does nothing to help the early adopters of new coins.

the early adopters are of course the ones who end up paying the price with these scam coins.

I agree with you. That's why I've now taken a stance that I will not be an early adopter of any coin anymore without them taking proof of developer and trust sources. Hopefully if the community as a whole starts doing this, it will cut down on the amount of scams.

It would be good if it was a nice steady slow rise in value instead of a huge pump then dump. Long term growth is desired imo.
