Not working still, with just 10% of my balance.

Sounds like a dust issue. Email me, I sent you a PM.
PS. I assume you mean VIA not BTC Wink

I've also noticed that it does say "BTC" instead of via for the fees.

It is mentioned in the third paragraph of the OP. It will be used to fund the project.

After the conversion period closes, do you want a separate ANN, or just keep this thread?

Hello everybody,

a noob question: Is XCH gonna hit an exchange like Mintpal or Bittrex?
or only trading on Clearwallet?

Thank you.

btw the price keeps refreshing in the sell/buy screen, it erases and replaces the price that the user inputs

also the order confirm screen is strange

there is a line item called "real via"

also someone was able to lock a part of my sell order with a higher pay to amount then i requested, which is sort of weird

and then this order even though in pending however impacts the price on the exchange showing XCH to be up 900%

My guess is an exchange will pick it up sooner or later.

I tested clearwallet again and encountered the same bug (after more than 2 weeks).

I tried to buy XCH using Via, yesterday and today and in both cases I ended up with my order pending. I lost my patience after one hour and logged out. It's even worse than before because now logging out doesn't help. Now you are not prompted to pay via manually.

Why is this problem persistent? Is it difficult to test it properly? Clearwallet is buggy and unreliable at this moment and I can see no improvement.

@jokumat:

I'll give you a few tips on how to use the clearwallet exchange.

Before going into detail, let me first say this:  drak said that eventually most of these problems (order matching, must stay logged-in, etc.) will be resolved with a brand new escrow service inside the wallet.  Said another way, (my words here) rather than waste time trying to fix every little bug (from Counterparty's code), a new and improved escrow system will SUPERSEDE most of it.

Okay, with the long term vision now in view, you probably still want to know how you can "get coins now!"

I've had the same problem and have spent many hours trying to buy on the XCH exchange, and I've learned a few things:

1.  I always get an error when trying to buy more than 20k, 25k, or 30k XCH coins at a time.  For example, if I want to buy 100k XCH - I buy it in 4 steps of 25k each, otherwise I get an error.

2.  I ALWAYS buy one price at a time.  I always got an error when trying to buy "up" several prices on the order book.

for example: (with approximate current order book)
Price [VIA/XCH]    Amount [XCH]
0.010                      650
0.0149                    2024
0.014949                3600
0.015                      134,168

The current order book makes a nice example as it illustrates both my points.  You CANNOT just enter an order for 150,000 XCH at a price of 0.015 and try to buy "up" the order book, and expect it to match all the orders for you.

First, buy the complete 650 XCH at 0.010.

Then buy the 2024.  Then buy the 3600.

THEN, when you get to 0.015 DO NOT try to buy more than 25k or 30k at a time.  (I was like a rat in-front-of a cocaine dispenser trying to figure this out BC there was like 200,000 XCH at a very good price and I COULD NOT BUY THEM....lol...so I found-out that the code would let me buy the whole thing in small increments)

I realize (and certainly drak does too), that little work-arounds like mine are NOT long term solutions.

BUT, as an investor, I would much rather have drak working on future and more important problems rather than wasting weeks trying to fix every little bug, which hopefully, will be superseded anyways!

Please let me know what you think...let's get some more action going on this thread Smiley

P.S @jokumat, eventually (it does not show up instantly), your pending orders will be shown in the "O Open Orders" tab AND in the "Markets" tab, which will then give you the option to cancel, so you can get some closure on them Smiley

I really dont know where these XCH bug/error complaints are coming from. Ive been using XCH since day one and the only bug i encountered when initially trading via for xch was it kept loading (stuck at loading). I reopened the browser and everything was in place. This error was experienced using firefox.

For the past few weeks, ive bought & burned XCH and bough JLT on XCH. Did not come across a single problem. *knocks on wood*  Tongue been using google chrome. Not saying its the solution, im just saying its what browser ive been using and i havent had issues.

Yeah, I use Firefox, but that sort of begs the question - assuming clearwallet works perfectly (no bugs) in other browsers, is it a long term solution to say "don't use clearwallet with Firefox, there are unresolved bugs"?

But in my experience using Firefox, clearwallet still works pretty damn good!  There are just a few bugs on the exchange.

Drak, is Grynn San still working on the project?  I haven't heard much from him or about him lately...

@AnthonyWittgenstein

Thanks for your tips. But I tried to buy the complete XCH offer at 0.010. I was able to buy XCH before, so this is a new bug, not an old one.

Brand new escrow service inside the wallet would be nice. This is something to wait for.

it would be nice to have the wallet translated to at least Chinese

they are trying at counterwallet but the web app they picked i think kind of sucks for the purpose (can't even donate)

i'll donate some XCH if anyone does the translate or manages the translation process
