Description:

HertzCoin specifically designed in order to become digital international currency for spectrum trade and sale (aka Spectrum Secondary Market).

What common RF spectrum have with digital currency?

First of all both digital currency and RF spectrum are non-material values. Actual value of digital currency and RF spectrum may grow significantly over time and in dependence on current market demand.
Second reason for associating RF spectrum and digital currency is because both of those non-material values are limited at its nature. Natural limitation of RF spectrum and CC maximum coin pool allows more stable and flexible correlation between values and their prices/per hertz/per technology.

Why would they need to trade spectrum for coins and vice-versa?

The idea behind association coins and RF spectrum is avoidance legislation problems for companies whose business directly dependent on RF spectrum availability (i.e. celluar operators, TV broadcast companies, smaller point-to-point service providers and even in long term perspective - satellite capacity resellers and providers). In most countries RF spectrum currently considered as Government property that being leased to the private companies. That makes all direct trade deals with spectrum either impossible or very complicated. However there are few exceptions, where trades of spectrum (spectrum secondary market) is officially allowed. HZ coin will benefit both of those creating single, government independent environment for spectrum trades that will allow customers in countries that have severe legislative limitations for spectrum deals (i.e. ban for direct sales) to still participate in such deals. HZ will not only enable RF Spectrum secondary market in countries where there is none but also provide more flexible tool for spectrum deals in countries where secondary market already available and will make international deals much more accessible (i.e. buyer will not need to go very deep in local regulations in order to buy or sell spectrum). The value of spectrum currently may be determined from the spectrum possible application and demographic, however this determination is subjective and we believe that only universal, dollar independent currency will allow worldwide place for spectrum secondary market. The future of spectrum market will look like global stock market that use digital, world economy independent currency that is not being subject for single country regulations.
