A lot has been going on in the altcoin community from scams to conspiracies and coin saturation. Recently a member on this forum made an attempt to become the only mod of the altcoin forum, having a mod here would result in some coins getting the upperhand an unfiar bias and judgment. I think having an altcoin Council is a far better idea and will be more beneficial to the altcoin community.

The Cryptocurrency market currently has a marketcap of about $7.9 billion and $7.47 billion of that market cap belongs to Bitcoin. That leaves just about $400 million marketcap between all the other currencies if you factor in the fact that litecoin is almost half of that $400 million, you leave a valuation of only $200 for 500 listed coins and thousands of unlisted.

The only reason Bitcoin is more valuable then other altcoins is first mover advantage. It's the truth if you compare bitcoin to a lot of alt coins on the technical side Bitcoin is lacking heavily. If the Protocol was updated to do something more like a lot of altcoins do I feel this is what would truly make the Bitcoin price sky rocket. For example Namecoin had a huge innovation on its hands with its integrated domain system that could lead to the web becoming decentralized. Imagine if bitcoin integrated something like that we wouldn't just see money 2.0 but we would see the internet 2.0 with the internet truly becoming decentralized and we would see massive growth in market cap. However it seems many people in the Bitcoin community look down on any new innovation and don't want to see the protocol progress.

Because of this stiffeling of innovative prevalent in the Bitcoin community along with its market cap already at about $8billion it is hard to see gains of %10000+ that used to be prevalent. That us were alt coins come in, a lot of altcoins give newcomers a chance to make a lot of money in this emerging market similar to the early adopters of Bitcoin.

The Altcoin Council will promote the altcoin scene and show the world that Bitcoin isn't the only cryptocurrency. We will fund add campaigns, insight new innovation and grow the community along with many more things that will take alt coins far.

So vote on who you think should be on this council, I will add some names to the list and I will take your suggestions for anyone else I should add to the list. Everyone has the ability to change their vote so if you see a new person added that you think should be on the council you can change your vote to vote for them.

Read this !

@ Theymos - Proposed Alt Currency Suggestion

that is THIS guy trying to seize power !
and he defends scam coins and lies and trolls n shit..

i said a while back in response to his topic "who is the biggest retard" he made just to troll me with..

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=729053.msg8260421#msg8260421

Quote
he demands he was DDOS'd before but won't admit it now ?? hmmm think about it Wink

iGotSpots.. well BCX got one i was such jealous Sad
but make a Miley Cyrus coin so i can try and contact her staff or whatever and get word to her to get in on it LOL
i have talked with a bunch of celebs before ..i can hunt them down Smiley

and now i have this clown cryptopaths sending me threats via PM  hahahahha

and he only did that after i posted on a topic in another section where he was trying to convince mods here
he is the CryptoKinght and the protector of Altcoins and he has exposed countless fraud coins
and that his detective work at exposing scammers was legendary and that we all call him this super hero moniker
and.. that he started a CryptoPolice unit of sorts.. so they should make him a moderator LOL
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=729834.msg8258514#msg8258514

so i reminded mods of his insane claims before about hacking ddos attempts and extortion claims he had made on some us bitching about clone coins
WHILE HE WAS DEFENDING THEM
and even worse his behavior when he was defending scam coins consisted of non stop name calling..
then he has a long list of lunatic topics and polls he made like whether i am a retard.. it just goes on and on..  he's a mouthy lunatic :/

i had noticed he was building up to something by trying to establish some good guy reputation around here by sneaking around
kissing butt in various other forum sections then sure enough he launched his Crypto Police crap and was propositioning mods.. for power !
funny part is he has on record some of the most insulting comments DEFENDING them of all people here and they are all on record for all to see.

so cryptopaths sent me this..
Quote
Your going down a dangerous path kid are you sure this is what you want?

anyways lol
hey buddy i am ALREADY the Crypto-Cop i was awarded this title last year Wink
Sometimes i have been called the Cryptsy-Cop etc
Your too late and your NOT getting my badge either !

This guy is a weird lunatic and a lying fraud trying to hijack this forum and parade around like he is working to defend crypto.
when in reality all he is defending is his right for people to post scam coins !
And he will lie and troll his ass off to do it too !
The proof to what i just said is right on here (one of many)  Operation Shitcoin Cleanout and Clean Up Has Begun- Join the Revolution- Updated

His goal is to get rid of me and other anti-scam coin guys and seize power and *try and build sum credibility here to DEFEND scam/clone coins !
I have not seen a single guy on this forum who had flipped out and raged and went insane as this guy cryptopaths has on just that on topic alone (last link i posted)
He had went berserk at the mere CONCEPT and discussion of stopping Scam Coins on that topic that he lost control.
and had went on to spam that topic with endless childish insults and then he escalated it to making up lies that we were ddosing him and trying to extort him. (no one did)
ALL to support the right to make and post scam coins here !

he waited a while.. and trolled on some of his other accounts for a bit and now he posts this crap LOL

and i am going to dig around and bump a couple of his topics so you can see just how god damn insane this guy is
AND how utterly deceitful and manipulative he with his scam coin defending and his repeated attempts at seizing power here.

Think about it... Why would a guy be the most intense maniac to defend scam coins here AND want to seize power and control of the forum so he is charge ?
(as a part of a council or by being a moderator of this forum section)
is it anymore obvious then that ?

C++ representative
Java representative
Javascript representative
Ethereum representative
Anonymity representative
National coin representative
Satire representative (to represent stuff like Doge), et cetera.
Yes indeed something like this would be better. Ethereum? No.
I'd personally nominate Spoetnik as well, he's active, everywhere and expressing his opinions (fight shitcoins as well).

OP did you really just nominate yourself?  Roll Eyes (took me time to realize who made the thread)

$200m for 500 listed coins is a shocking number. I thought the altcoin market is bigger than that. So many coins and so little market share means the trade is very risky.

It's not just 500 coins it's way more. 500 listed coins and thousands of unlisted coins fall under that $200 million market cap.

There were alternates which were released back in 2010 / 2011 and most of them have since died out, IIRC.

1/500 is bad odds and technically worse than the lottery, the lottery has lesser prizes (like $10 with a 1/50 chance) that you can win.

Bitcoin foundation is full of drama and questionable person running the organization. Having a council will just distract technology innovation and introduce more risk.

I was just about to comment on this as well. I'm not sure if an altcoin council would turn out good or bad, but just seeing the drama that unfolded in the Bitcoin Foundation, I'm not sure if a council is what is needed.

Personally we believe that altcoins are just in a bad phase right now, but that it is ending soon. Only true alternative currencies will rise out of this phase, and from there cryptos will be better than ever.

Glad I voted correctly (eduffield), but he is way too busy, smart and talented to waste his time battling bullshitters.

I'm going to keep at it out of my own accord. Y'all should too. And not ask for some special title.

Indeed. He is most likely not even interested. He has smarter thing to do coding DRK and preparing RC4 (almost there).

I could write one thousand responses to this idea based on that line, not one of them would be positive.

agreed !

it all should be left free and open for whom ever to do what they want with out interference.
as in i see the Altcoin scene as survival of the fittest and who ever that ends up being should have the people they need
because they won that would make them the right people.
i hope you guys see what i mean by that LOL

what we don't need is a dishonest LYING TROLL who makes CLONE COINS trying to proclaim he is the Crypto-Knight and that he should be a mod here !

what blows me away isn't that someone is saying this stuff it's the fact that a guy who has hung around here trolling and calling people names
and lying about anti-clone coin guys is asking to be in charge.. him of all people ? seriously ? WOW !

I KNEW damn well by his intense reaction before to the "Operation shit coin" topic way back that he was a mass coin cloner !
No other normal guy would react the way he did.. that was a smoking gun his is one of them !
And he was far too stupid to realize he gave himself away in the process lol

he must make a tidy little fortune cloning coins and making accounts and running around lying and scamming ..and trolling critics.
and he is going to far with his accusations he has never backed up (and there is LOTS)

Watch this guy people and you will see what i mean ..he's a snake slithering around in the shadows playing games.
and you could see when he was leading up to something .. after his bout of drama couple months back
he avoided using that 1 account of his in here and spent all his time kissing ass in the other forum sections
trying to make endless little anti-clone coin comments that oppose his pro clone comment in this section
and then he propositioned the guy who runs this site to be a mod claiming he is the right man for the job.
It was an orchestrated scheming little plan he tried to execute and he might have gotten away with it had i not exposed him.
He could be mod right now and pushing his own *protected scam coins on the side (while publicly being anti-clone) had we not looked at all this..

he tried to do a take over LOL
And this topic is yet another attempt of many..

For all i know the existing mods already make their owns coins and well whatever.. lol
we don't need to one confirmed doing this though..
one thing dumb about Cryptsy hiring guys who have coins out or other exchanges etc is not a good idea !
just saying there is plenty of conflict of interest as it is, we don't need more.

All i am trying to say is,
i would like to strive towards NEUTRAL ground for both sides.
Freedom for the people who need it to push innovation or a scam coin if they must.
and the freedom for guys to step up and try and catch the scammers and criticize coins etc.
hopefully a balance in the middle.

and how it works now is good enough for that ..a council is not going to improve over how it is already i think.
I have never been apart of any group and i doubt i would !
Most of us coin critics i think are just lone wolf guys..
And i just noticed i called myself a coin critic lol
well i guess all some guys do is kiss ass supporting scam coins..
amazing how few people saying anything critical about bad coins.. they just hide :/

Spoetnik you're an idiot. I don't like shitcoins that's exactly why I as against the shitcoins you and your group were making, you know the scheme you and muddafudda were in on. You were destroying other peoples coins in attempt to benefit your own shitcoins. I am against your shitcoins but I did not in any way shape or form attempt to destroy your coin.

That is the difference between me and you I don't try to centralize something that should remain decentralized and free. I don't try to destroy something just because I don't like it. I leave the success of a coin up to the free market to decide while you and your rag tag group of scamming shitcoin developers try to destroy any coin in your way while trying to hide under the disguise of doing things for the good of crypto with your operation shitcoin cleanout.
